Jugs PS50 Baseball/Softball Pitching Machine

The Jugs PS50 Baseball/Softball Pitching Machine is the introductory-level Jugs pitching machine, throwing JUGS practice baseballs and 11 in. or 12 in. softballs from 15-50 mph off a digital readout. Fifteen at the bottom is slow enough for a first machine at-bat. Fifty at the top puts a full-size ball in the zone as a fastball or a slowpitch arc. Two chutes and adjustable Quick-Snap legs come with it, so one machine covers baseball and both kinds of softball.

The PS50 weighs just 50 lbs, carries a grip-and-go handle and runs on a 110V AC outlet behind a 1/4 HP motor. Its pneumatic tire carries an average 20-year life expectancy, against 5 years for a solid tire, so the part that touches every pitch outlasts a long run of seasons.

How it works

A chute for each ball size
A combo machine needs two chutes for a plain mechanical reason. A 12 in. softball will not sit in a chute built to hold a baseball, and a baseball rolls loose in a chute built for a softball. Either way the ball meets the wheel at a slightly different point every time. The PS50 ships with both: a 9 in. chute for baseball and a 12 in. chute for fastpitch and slowpitch softball.

A digital readout from 15-50 mph
The digital readout lets you easily set speeds across the 15-50 mph range, giving coaches and parents full control over training intensity. The number on the display is the number the hitter faces, so moving a nine-year-old from 25 to 30 mph is a recorded change. Fifty is the ceiling on this machine; the combo machines above it carry the range higher.

At just 50 lbs with Quick-Snap legs and a grip-and-go handle, the PS50 is highly portable and quick to set up anywhere. Two sports

A chute sized for each sport

The PS50 comes with both chutes, sized to the ball each sport uses: 9 in. for baseball, 12 in. for fastpitch and slowpitch softball. Swapping the chute and resetting the adjustable legs turns a baseball machine into a softball machine, and the two together replicate authentic pitch angles and release points for each sport. A softball program and a baseball program can share one machine and one storage space.
