Magnetic Rowing Machine
The RM1 runs 32 levels of electromagnetic resistance off a twist dial, so changing load mid-piece takes a hand off the handle for about a second. Thirty-two steps is a fine enough scale to hold a target split through a long interval instead of overshooting it, and because the resistance is electronically controlled, level 19 today is level 19 next month.
The rail measures 940 mm — roughly 37 inches — which is what lets a rower up to 6' 3" finish the drive instead of running out of slide. The dual-track frame is rated to 265 lb, and the whole rail folds vertical when the session ends, dropping the machine from 63.7" long to 25.8".
The Technology
How resistance is set, how the machine tells you what you are doing, what the rail is built on, and where your session goes afterwards.
Why Athletes Choose This
Built For Training
Short rails are what make home rowers feel wrong to anyone over six feet — you run out of slide before your legs finish pushing, and the stroke turns into an arm pull. The RM1 uses a 940 mm rail, roughly 37 inches, which accommodates users up to 6' 3" through a full, unrestricted stroke. The seat itself is cushioned and rides on ultra-smooth rollers, the detail that decides whether you finish a 30-minute piece or stop at 12 because of where you are sitting. One long rail also means two people of different heights share the machine without adjusting anything.
Resistance runs through 32 electromagnetic levels set by a single twist, so you can step load up between intervals without leaving the seat or losing rhythm. The LED rings then report what you are doing back to you: blue while you are rowing easy, red when intensity climbs. The console keeps the numbers that matter for repeatable training — calories burned, speed, stroke count and time — so a session becomes something you can match rather than approximate.
Connect over Bluetooth to Kinomap and the resistance moves on its own to match real-world waterways, so the machine does the deciding while you hold form. Connect to the HitGo app instead and it records your exercise, surfaces AI-powered insights, and runs training programs that adjust speed automatically. An integrated holder keeps a phone or tablet in reach for either one, or for the show that gets you through a steady-state piece. Tablet not included.
A rower is a long machine, and the length is why so many end up sold. The RM1 rail folds vertical: 63.7" x 20.8" x 25.8" in use becomes 25.8" x 20.8" x 49.8" standing against a wall. Built-in wheels move the 42.5 lb frame in seconds, and the modular build means assembly is straightforward rather than an afternoon. It runs on a standard corded connection, so plan the spot with an outlet in reach.
