TrueForm Trainer Curved Treadmill

The TRUEFORM.TRAINER is the streamlined machine in the TrueForm range and it needs no electricity: the belt moves because you move it. The frame is steel, with the inner frame formed and welded from 7-gauge inside a 2-inch tubing outer, and the running surface is a slatted tread 17 inches wide on a 64 by 31 inch footprint.

It handles users up to 400 pounds at top speed and weighs 340 pounds itself, in rubber or turf. TrueForm designs and engineers the Trainer in house and builds it at its overseas manufacturing facility. The Runner is the model built in the USA.

With no motor in it, the frame, the bearings and the shape of the curve carry the machine between them.

The Trainer ships with a heavy-duty impact-absorbing slatted running surface in rubber, and a turf belt is the alternative. The tread surface is a molded thermoplastic elastomer over a molded polymer lower, on a polyurethane reinforced belt. The turf model swaps that slat for a premium slatted turf belt.

The Display

An LED Display On A Rechargeable Battery

The Trainer carries a bright LED display running off a rechargeable battery, so the machine needs no wall socket at all. Bluetooth handles the rest: FTMS apps such as Zwift and Strava, plus any Bluetooth heart rate strap or watch. The individualised Bluetooth code on each treadmill lets several operate in the same space without interference.

Great treadmill - slow shipping

"Great experience with a responsive customer service team at RFA. Good price and email traffic thru the purchase. The machine ships from the manufacturer, it is not in (physical) stock at RFA. Trueform customer service was lackluster and slow. From order to delivery it was almost 2 months despite being listed as "in stock" at RFA. The warranty period begins at purchase, not delivery. Aside from the shipping delay, tbe machine is excellent and I enjoy it much more than our traditional treadmill it replaces. My kiddos, wife, and I all get to enjoy it. Read up on the differences between the manual and traditional mills, there is more effort with these."

Great overall

"The TrueForm Trainer is by far the best treadmill I've ever run on. I'm normally an outdoor runner and have always hated treadmills because they feel so unnatural to run on but this machine has changed that. With less time available these days to dedicate to driving to my favorite running locations I've taken to running much more at home and I actually look forward to my run on this every day. That said, I do have a few complaints about the machine. The heart rate display is useless if you are in the Garmin ecosystem, it only will connect to Polar. The User Manual is equally useless, it's so vague you might as well not read it. Also, my Trainer arrived unlevel. There are leveling bolts on the back footrest that can be adjusted with a 19mm wrench but again, that wasn't even mentioned in the User Manual. And finally, I think they should have made it heavier because it has a tendency to want to slowly move across the floor over time. I'll probably end up fabricating some sort of brace to hold the wheels in place."

I use the TrueForm Runner at my Gym, and I LOVE it. Would the TrueForm Trainer be that much different? I'm thinking of getting one for my home but I've never been on one. Is there a big difference? Thank You, Ray Siekierski: Hi there, With the trainer you will still have the same great Trueform feel and quality. The only difference is that the Runner is more meant for commercial space and has a bit more of a curve to it.
