Competition Bumper Plates

York Barbell Competition Bumper Plates

York builds these plates to the specifications for competition in North America. Every weight measures 17.7 inches across, the standard IWF 450 mm diameter, so a 25 lb plate and a 55 lb plate set the bar at the same height off the floor. Thickness is what changes: 1.25 inches at 25 lb, then 1.5, 2 and 2.5 inches as the weight goes up.

The centre is a zinc-coated hub and inner collar with a 1.99-inch opening, which fits most 2-inch Olympic barbells and holds the plate close on the sleeve. Plates are sold individually in green, yellow, blue and red.

These are sold individually. Each item number is a single plate, so order in pairs if you want a balanced bar.
