440 lb on the standard build, 500 lb on the wide. The 440 lb lifting capacity belongs to the 79 x 25 in. standard table, and the 500 lb lifting capacity belongs to the 79 x 30 in. wide table with Postural Flex. The headline figure of 500 lb gets quoted on its own often enough that it is worth pinning to a build before you order: pick the build first and the capacity follows it.

The head support takes positive and negative inclination. Fold-down segments in the head section and in the chest section set the top up for prone, supine and seated work, and the head section carries a face hole with a removable cushion as standard, so prone positioning needs no separate insert. The Galaxy 3 section table works differently, on a gas-spring head section running +40 deg to -70 deg.

The wide build with Postural Flex. Chattanooga calls it the postural flex model and builds it at 79 x 30 x 21-40 in. and 500 lb. The standard build comes with the same seven sections and the same electric parallelogram lift, without the powered middle section, so the motorized middle is the one feature that cannot be added to the narrower table.

Electric. Both US ordering descriptions read "120 V", and the Montane range drives its parallelogram lift with an electric actuator over a range given in metric as 49 to 101 cm. Hydraulic actuation is a Galaxy feature, so a Montane room needs a wall outlet within reach of the table in place of a floor pump within reach of your foot.

Navy Blue, Black and Imperial Blue. All three are available on the standard build and on the wide XL, over the same powder-coated steel frame and the same upholstery specification. Four more colours run across the wider Montane range, Beige, Blue, Gray and Graphite Gray, and they sit outside the three the Andes is currently built in, so a room planned around one of those four is being planned around a colour this table does not carry. Write the colour on the order in words and we will confirm it before the table is built.

Get the Andes warranty term in writing before you order, along with what it covers on the actuator, the frame and the upholstery. On a table that stays in a treatment room for a decade, the actuator is the part worth having covered on paper: it drives the parallelogram lift through the full 19 to 40 in. range every time the height changes, and it is the one powered component in a table that is otherwise steel, foam and upholstery.

Yes. Both US ordering descriptions include "4 Wheels", and four casters with a lock mechanism come fitted on the standard and the wide build alike. Directional casters appear as an option elsewhere in the Montane range, but the US configuration of the Andes arrives with the locking set already on it, so a 274 lb table rolls under one person once the locks are released and holds still under a patient once they are set.

The frame is powder-coated steel and the top is upholstered in Navy Blue, Black or Imperial Blue. Side brackets for stabilizing belts are part of the frame as standard equipment, and the head section carries a face hole with a removable cushion. Gas springs belong to the Galaxy head and leg sections; the Andes head support works on positive and negative inclination.

Three Montane holders exist and they are not interchangeable: one for standard Montane tables, one for a Montane with Postural Flex, and one universal Montane fit. Order by build, and order the holder with the table from our paper roll rack so the right one arrives on the same delivery. The Galaxy tables take a holder of their own again, which does not fit a Montane frame.

Yes. Side brackets for stabilizing belts are standard equipment on the Andes. The belt is 25.8 x 2 in. including clasp, and we stock it as the Montane table stabilization belt. Chattanooga catalogues it once, as a range accessory, so the same belt serves the Galaxy tables and a clinic running both ranges buys a single item for either.

The table is 79 in. long and either 25 or 30 in. wide, standing 21 to 40 in. off the floor. It crates at 86.6 x 33.5 x 31.5 in. and 330 lb on the standard build, or 86.6 x 37.4 x 31.5 in. and 341 lb on the wide. Assembled weight is 274 lb and 285 lb respectively. Check the doorway, the lift and the turn into the treatment room before delivery day, and leave working room on both long sides so the perimeter foot switch is reachable all the way round.

By a foot switch that runs the full perimeter of the table, so it is under your foot from either long side, the head end or the foot end. The switch drives the electric actuator through the parallelogram lift across the whole 19 to 40 in. range, with no hand control to put down and no memory preset to program: the table stops where your foot lets it stop.
