Free Delivery Damage Insurance Included With Purchase

 Curbside Delivery ships via Freight to the 48 contiguous states. The freight carrier will contact you 24 to 48 hours prior to delivery to set a delivery day and time Monday-Friday, with a 4-hour open window.

      They won’t deliver without speaking to you first. **Shipping times are only approximate, and can change depending on environmental conditions, transit issues, and carrier’s availability. Last minute appointments can occur, and it’s out of our hands since the delivery process is managed by the carrier’s. The sauna will be delivered in 1 box or more, depending on the model. All boxes will be strapped to a pallet. All saunas are delivered in a 53-foot semi-truck with a single driver, who will unload the pallet to your curbside or driveway only. Any delivery questions or issues (remote areas, long driveways, large and low hanging trees, apartment complex, stairs, etc.) should be addressed with us prior to shipping your sauna.

        Once the driver has unloaded the sauna, we ask that you immediately inspect the boxes for any damage. Please indicate any minor scratches, indentations, or scuff marks to the outside of the boxes on the delivery receipt. You do not need to open the boxes to inspect the sauna. The freight company will deliver your sauna to a carport or first-floor entryway. Please check the box dimensions and ensure it will fit through your doorway. Assembly on these saunas are surprisingly easy and can take between 30-45 minutes, depending on the sauna. Assembly instructions are included with the saunas.

In the USA the “lifetime” of an infrared sauna is considered 7 years. Many sauna brands offering a “lifetime warranty” know this and use it against you after 7 years of ownership. Your Finnmark Design’s sauna comes with a 10-year warranty, giving you piece of mind that after 7 years you are still covered.

Unconditional Lifetime Warranty

Spectrum Plus™  infrared heaters (UL Listed) have an estimated operational life of 40,000 hours and our carbon 360 heaters have an estimated operational life of 30,000 hours. Using your sauna 5 times per week your Spectrum heaters can last up to 130 years. 

Our Spectrum Plus™ Incoloy heaters have a unconditional lifetime warranty. No other sauna brand is that confident in their heating elements.

Outdoor Combination Barrel Sauna

Finnmark FD-6 4-Person Clear Cedar Combination Outdoor Barrel Sauna

The FD-6 is a four-person barrel that carries both kinds of heat in one cabin: five infrared panels set into the cabin, and a traditional rock heater you choose separately. Interior dimensions are 66 by 72 by 71 inches, with two tiers of bench inside it, and Finnmark list the room volume at 135 cubic feet. With the rock heater running the cabin reaches 185°F. On infrared alone the maximum is 170°F.

The shell is clear grade Western Canadian Cedar, and so is everything behind it — the frame, the interior boards, both benches — cut into staves an inch and a half thick. Finnmark describe cedar as naturally antimicrobial and resistant to mold, bacteria and fungus.

The Build

One Timber, Used Everywhere It Shows

Finnmark specify clear grade Western Canadian Cedar for the FD-6's staves, its frame, its interior and both of its benches. Three more decisions sit on top of that one: how the seating stacks, what keeps the weather off, and what heats the room.

Five Spectrum Plus Panels
Five Spectrum Plus infrared heaters at 350 watts each, 1,750 watts in total. Finnmark build them as UL Listed incoloy short-wave elements producing mid and far infrared, rated at .99 emissivity. Their claim for the panels is deep penetrating heat up to 25 times more than standard carbon panel heaters, a figure Finnmark publish without a methodology behind it.

Cedar Staves, A Shingle Roof And Three Stainless Bands

From behind, the whole barrel is cedar. Staves 1.5 inches thick run the curve of the shell, three stainless steel bands pull them together, and a shingle rain jacket sheds water off the top. Three Shou Sugi Ban treated supports hold the cabin clear of the ground. The finished exterior measures 75 by 79 by 75 inches and weighs 830 lbs assembled.

Two Tiers Of Bench In 135 Cubic Feet

The cutaway shows how the seating stacks. An upper bench of 71 by 24 by 33.1 inches sits above a lower bench of 60.5 by 16 by 16.7, inside an interior measuring 66 by 72 by 71 inches. Finnmark list the room volume at 135 cubic feet and rate the barrel for four bathers. Bench stock, backrests and the interior boards are the same clear grade cedar as the shell, and an RGB LED light is set beneath the bench.

185°F, Once You Add The Rocks

The rock heater is a separate purchase and it is the part that takes the cabin to 185°F. Finnmark's own feature diagram says as much: choose from many different traditional steam heaters. Three packages are offered on this page, and the useful number to hold against them is the FD-6's own room volume of 135 cubic feet. The Harvia KIP 4.5kW packages are listed for 100 to 210 cubic feet. The HUUM DROP 6.0kW package is listed for 177 to 353. Read those ranges against the 135 and against your own electrician's advice.

Five Panels On A Standard Household Plug

With the front open the infrared side is visible in one frame. Five Spectrum Plus panels are set into the cabin at 350 watts apiece, 1,750 watts together, and the infrared system runs on 120v 15a through a NEMA 5-15P plug on a nine-foot cord. Infrared tops out at 170°F on its own. Finnmark rate the cabin Very Low EMF. Running all of it is the Wifi Controller 2.0, an LCD panel with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth audio and lighting control built in.

The Finnmark Barrel Pair

Two Barrels, One Cabin, Two Timbers

The FD-6 and the FD-7 are the same barrel built twice. Same 135 cubic feet, same two-tier bench in the same sizes, same 8mm glass, same three bands, same shingle roof, same five Spectrum Plus panels, same 830 lbs on the pad. The choice between them is a material one — clear grade Canadian cedar or European thermo-aspen — and the two specifications also list different ventilation types.

A traditional rock heater is chosen separately, which is what Finnmark's own feature diagram means when it says to choose from many different traditional steam heaters. Here are the numbers so you can match them yourself. The FD-6's room volume is 135 ft³. The Harvia KIP 4.5kW, offered here both with knob controls and stones and in a digital version with Wi-Fi and stones, is rated for 100 to 210 ft³. The HUUM DROP 6.0kW with the UKU Wi-Fi controller is rated for 177 to 353 ft³. Take those ratings and your own installer's advice into the decision.

Finnmark's framing for the ten-year term is worth repeating as they put it: in the USA the working lifetime of an infrared sauna is considered seven years, so a ten-year term still covers you past that point. Two things separate them. The FD-6's shell is clear grade Western Canadian Cedar while the FD-7's is thermally modified European aspen; benches and backrest are Canadian cedar on both. The specification also lists gravity ventilation for the FD-6 and disc ventilation for the FD-7. Every dimension, the bench sizes, the glass, the bands, the roof, the five infrared panels, the controller and the 830 lb assembled weight are identical. Both are ETL certified and made by Finnmark Designs of Wheeling, Illinois.
