The Finnmark FD-7 4-Person Thermo-Aspen Hybrid Outdoor Barrel Sauna is an outdoor barrel sauna with a shell of European Thermo-Aspen, aspen naturally heat-treated for improved durability and moisture resistance. Inside that pale shell, two tiers of Canadian cedar bench seat four. Five Spectrum Plus™ infrared panels bring the cabin to 170°F by themselves. Pour water over a rock heater, bought separately, and the same room switches from dry infrared heat to steam at up to 185°F. The aspen staves are 1.5 inches thick, and the sauna is ETL certified.

The benches and the three-bar backrest are clear grade Western Canadian Cedar, so everything you sit and lean on is a different wood from the walls around you. The backrest takes an optional ergonomic upgrade, and the door is glazed in 8mm solid tempered glass.

How it works

The FD-7 splits its timber: heat-treated European aspen forms the shell that stands out in the weather, and Canadian cedar forms the benches and backrest you sit against.

The staves are European aspen, 1.5 inches thick. Heat and steam do the treatment, with no chemicals involved, and the finished wood stays pale.

The benches and backrest are clear grade Western Canadian Cedar, naturally antimicrobial and resistant to mold, bacteria and fungus. The patent pending two-tier layout puts seating on two levels, 71 x 24 x 33.1 in. above and 60.5 x 16 x 16.7 in. below, so you can climb higher to get hot faster.

The Shell

Out in the weather, the barrel is pale, thermally modified European aspen from end to end. The staves are bound by three stainless steel bands for corrosion protection, roofed with shingles and carried on three heavy duty Shou Sugi Ban treated supports.

Cedar On The Surfaces You Sit Against

Inside the aspen barrel the seating switches wood, to clear grade Western Canadian Cedar for the benches and the backrest. There are two levels of it, set inside an interior of 66 by 72 by 71 inches. An RGB LED light runs beneath the bench.

Five Spectrum Plus panels supply the dry heat in a cabin rated Very Low EMF, and the Wifi Controller 2.0 runs the heat, Bluetooth audio and lighting from one Wi-Fi enabled LCD panel. For steam you add a rock heater of your choice from many different traditional steam heaters, since none ships with the FD-7. Both Harvia KIP 4.5kW packages are rated for 100 to 210 cubic feet, a span that covers this cabin's 135.

No. The traditional rock heater is chosen separately, and Harvia KIP 4.5kW packages are available for it. With the rocks in use the cabin reaches 185°F, against 170°F on infrared alone.

Its infrared side needs a 120v 15a outlet for the NEMA 5-15P plug at the end of a nine-foot power cord, feeding five 350W Spectrum Plus heaters for 1,750W in total. The rock heater is bought separately, and its own electrical requirement comes with the package you pick.

Free Delivery Damage Insurance Included With Purchase

Curbside Delivery ships via Freight to the 48 contiguous states. The freight carrier will contact you 24 to 48 hours prior to delivery to set a delivery day and time Monday-Friday, with a 4-hour open window.

They won’t deliver without speaking to you first. **Shipping times are only approximate, and can change depending on environmental conditions, transit issues, and carrier’s availability. Last minute appointments can occur, and it’s out of our hands since the delivery process is managed by the carrier’s. The sauna will be delivered in 1 box or more, depending on the model. All boxes will be strapped to a pallet. All saunas are delivered in a 53-foot semi-truck with a single driver, who will unload the pallet to your curbside or driveway only. Any delivery questions or issues (remote areas, long driveways, large and low hanging trees, apartment complex, stairs, etc.) should be addressed with us prior to shipping your sauna.

Once the driver has unloaded the sauna, we ask that you immediately inspect the boxes for any damage. Please indicate any minor scratches, indentations, or scuff marks to the outside of the boxes on the delivery receipt. You do not need to open the boxes to inspect the sauna. The freight company will deliver your sauna to a carport or first-floor entryway. Please check the box dimensions and ensure it will fit through your doorway. Assembly on these saunas are surprisingly easy and can take between 30-45 minutes, depending on the sauna. Assembly instructions are included with the saunas.
