FORM Swim | Smart Swim 2 LT
The FORM Smart Swim 2 LT is a pair of swimming goggles with a small display set inside the lens, so pace reaches you mid-length. The Augmented Reality Display shows pace, time, distance and stroke count in real time, with no need to check a watch at the wall. The goggles weigh 68 g and the battery lasts up to 14 hours. SwimStraight™, a digital compass in the goggle, holds your line in open water. The lens is mirrored with a factory anti-fog coating and blocks 98 percent of UV. Swims sync to the FORM app on their own when you are done.
Everything that puts numbers in front of your eyes is here. The waveguide display sits inside the lens. Motion sensors count strokes without being told to. The compass works where there are no walls, and the app turns the swim into a record afterwards. There is no heart rate sensor in this model. Core features work with no subscription, and FORM Premium is optional, starting with a free month.
Swims land in the FORM app on their own. From there they push out to Strava, TrainingPeaks, TriDot, Apple Health and Final Surge, and a session sits with the rest of your training. World Triathlon, T100, USA Triathlon and SuperTri have all approved them for racing, and they are built for pool, open water and swim spa alike.
How it works
The display, the motion sensors, the compass and the FORM app work together, so each swim is read in the lens and kept in the record.
In the water
Stroke detection, the compass and app syncing start on their own once the goggle is on, with no mode to select before you push off.
You choose which metrics appear, and the view stays short. Set it up in the app before you swim.
A goggle that leaks or fogs is a goggle you stop wearing, so the parts that touch your face matter as much as the electronics behind them.
Fourteen hours of battery covers a long stretch of sessions, and the charge routine is short enough to fit between them.
The goggles record the swim and the app is where it becomes something you can act on. Here is where the free tier ends and Premium begins.
The lineup
Every model in the line puts the same display inside the lens, and the heart rate sensor and the lens material vary.
