FORM Swim | Smart Swim 2 PRO

FORM Smart Swim 2 PRO Goggles

The FORM Smart Swim 2 PRO is a pair of swimming goggles built around a Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 lens, with an optical heart rate sensor and a display inside it. The Augmented Reality Display shows heart rate, pace, time, distance and stroke data in real time. The scratch-resistant, mirrored glass resists the fine scratches that grit, towels and kit bags leave on a goggle lens. An anti-fog spray comes with the goggles, and you reapply it yourself. They weigh 73.4 g and the battery lasts up to 14 hours. SwimStraight™ is a digital compass inside the goggle, and it holds your line in open water.

The lens sets this model apart from the rest of the line. A goggle lens picks up fine scratches from grit, from towels and from a kit bag. Every one of them scatters a little light across your view. Glass resists them, at 73.4 g on the scale. Core features need no subscription, and FORM Premium is optional with a free month to start.

A finished swim uploads to the FORM app by itself, heart rate along with it, and carries on out to Strava, TrainingPeaks, TriDot, Apple Health and Final Surge. The goggles are built for pool, open water and swim spa alike.

How it works

How it works

The PRO runs everything the Smart Swim 2 does, on a glass lens with a fog system you top up.

A Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 lens
The lens is Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 rather than the plastic a goggle lens is normally made from, and it is scratch-resistant and mirrored. Scratches scatter light and haze the view, and they arrive from grit and from being wiped dry more than from anything that happens in the water. Like the rest of the line it is UPF 50+, blocking 98 percent of UV.
Scratch-resistant glass
Anti-fog you can reapply
The PRO carries a spray you put on yourself: a ready-to-use bottle good for about 35 swims, and a concentrate that makes up to 140 more. When fogging starts, you top it up.
35 swims, plus 140 more
Heart rate without a chest strap
The optical sensor is built into the goggle body and reads from the side of your head, where a goggle strap already holds it steady. It shows real-time heart rate on the display, in the pool and in open water alike.
No chest strap
The display and the open water compass
FORM's patented waveguide puts the display inside the lens, showing the metrics you selected in the app. Motion sensors in the goggle body do the counting, picking up your stroke with no mode to set before you push off. Outside, SwimStraight™ is a patented in-goggle digital compass that gives you a heading to hold, and a paired Garmin or Apple watch adds GPS distance and pace per 100 m.

What Gorilla® Glass 3 changes about a goggle

Glass is the headline change on this model, and the reason it sits at the top of the line. It is the one part of a goggle you look through, and the whole goggle comes to 73.4 g.

  • Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3, scratch-resistant and mirrored
  • UPF 50+, blocking 98 percent of UV
  • Race approved by World Triathlon, T100, USA Triathlon and SuperTri

Anti-fog

A fog system you top up yourself

A spray is applied by you, before a swim, and can be renewed for as long as you own the goggles. Both bottles arrive in the box, and nothing else has to be bought before the first swim.

  • A ready-to-use anti-fog spray bottle, good for about 35 swims
  • A concentrate refill bottle that makes up to 140 further swims
  • You put it on before a swim, so the fog performance is something you maintain
  • Rinse in fresh water afterwards and dry in the ventilated case

Living with them

Heart rate and battery life

Underneath the glass this is the Smart Swim 2, and the parts that make it useful day to day are the same.

  • Optical heart rate sensor built into the goggle, reading from the side of the head
  • Motion sensors handle stroke detection on their own, with no mode to choose before you push off
  • A pool set comes back as pace, time, distance, stroke rate, stroke count, distance per stroke, split times and calories burned
  • Proprietary eye seals with added curvature, and a set of nose bridges in the box to size the width across your nose
  • Up to 14 hours of battery on a charge, with a magnetic cable into a USB port and about an hour from empty to 80 percent
  • The glass, the sensor, the display and the compass need no subscription at all
  • FORM Premium is the optional layer: HeadCoach, the workout library, training plans and the WHOOP link
  • Covered by FORM's two-year warranty against defects in materials or workmanship

The app and what Premium covers

The goggle records; the app is where a swim becomes something to act on. Here is where the free tier ends and Premium begins.

  • Each swim uploads on its own once you are out of the water, heart rate included
  • No subscription needed for the swim record itself, every pool and open water metric, or sharing out to Strava, TrainingPeaks, TriDot, Apple Health and Final Surge
  • HeadCoach, inside FORM Premium, puts one focused reminder in the goggles as a swim starts and breaks the swim down in the app afterwards
  • Premium also holds over 1,500 workouts, a builder for writing your own, and structured training plans
  • FORM connects to WHOOP. Link the two accounts once, in the Connected Apps section of the FORM app
  • HeadCoach then reads the recovery score WHOOP gives you that morning and writes the session around it: a high score holds the planned intensity or raises it, a moderate score scales it back, and a low score moves you to a recovery-focused workout
  • The link runs through the FORM app and not the goggles, and HeadCoach sits inside FORM Premium and works with an active Premium subscription
  • The box holds the goggles and the two anti-fog bottles; a smartphone for the FORM app is not included, and it is where a swim gets reviewed and the display gets configured
  • GPS distance and pace in open water call for a Garmin or Apple watch, and HeadCoach and the workout library call for FORM Premium
  • The free month is how Premium opens, and the glass, the sensor, the display and the compass carry on working if you let it lapse

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 is scratch-resistant, where a standard goggle lens is not, and a scratched lens hazes the view for the life of the goggle. The PRO weighs 73.4 g, against 69 g for the Smart Swim 2.
A bottle that is ready to use out of the box, good for about 35 swims, and a concentrate refill that makes up to 140 more. You apply it yourself, so when fogging starts you top it up.
Yes, through the FORM app and not through the goggles, so the PRO behaves here exactly as the rest of the line does. Link the accounts in Connected Apps and HeadCoach workouts adjust to your daily WHOOP recovery score, holding or increasing intensity when it is high, scaling back when it is moderate, and moving to a recovery-focused session when it is low. HeadCoach is a FORM Premium feature. Swims also share to Strava, TrainingPeaks, TriDot, Apple Health and Final Surge.
The pool view can carry heart rate, pace, time, distance, stroke rate, stroke count, distance per stroke, split times and calories burned. Open water gives you heart rate, stroke rate and time, and a paired Garmin or Apple watch adds GPS distance and pace per 100 m. Which of them you actually see is set in the FORM app.
Up to 14 hours on a charge. The cable is magnetic, snapping onto pins on the goggle, with a USB plug at the other end. An empty battery reaches 80 percent in about an hour.
The LT has the display and the compass and no heart rate sensor. The Smart Swim 2 adds the heart rate sensor, on a mirrored lens with a factory anti-fog coating. The PRO is that goggle with the glass lens and the renewable spray. All three are in the lineup above.
No. The glass, the heart rate sensor, the display, stroke detection and the compass are all hardware or core software and work without one. FORM Premium is the optional layer on top: HeadCoach, a library of over 1,500 workouts or a custom builder, structured training plans, and the WHOOP link. It opens with a free month.
FORM's own eye seals carry added curvature, and a set of nose bridges in the box adjusts the width across the nose. A snug fit keeps the heart rate sensor settled against the side of your head, where the goggle strap holds it steady.
They are race approved by World Triathlon, T100, USA Triathlon and SuperTri. Individual event rules can still differ, so check the race you are entering.
FORM covers defects in materials or workmanship for two years, and RFA's shipping terms are shown at checkout.
