Inside the Edge 550

How it works

Satellite tracking on more than one band
The Edge 550 reads GPS, GLONASS and Galileo with multi-band GNSS, meaning more than one signal band from several satellite systems. It also logs at 5 Hz for hyper-detailed tracking on the trail.
5 Hz
ClimbPro ascent planner
ClimbPro maps the climbs on your ride and shows the elevation gain still to come, the slope grade and the nearby climbs as you go.
Trail maps with Forksight
Preloaded maps carry Trailforks mountain bike trail data. Forksight mode, which reads the trail network ahead of you, automatically displays upcoming forks with their names, distance and elevation.
Maps managed over Wi-Fi
The map manager adds, updates or removes maps over Wi-Fi with no computer needed. Ride-specific routing shapes routes around your ride type and pulls in routes popular with other Garmin cyclists.
