Icing On The Go
Icing a back is awkward. The area is broad and flat, it is hard to reach, and holding anything against it means lying down and staying there. The Hyperice Back solves the holding part: a neoprene wrap straps the ice cell across the lower back and keeps it there while you stand up and carry on.
Hyperice describes this as the product line that started it all. The wrap is machine washable premium Plush™ neoprene, it holds an ultra-thin antimicrobial ice cell, and the cell carries a patented air-release valve that squeezes the air out so the ice lies flat against the skin. There is nothing to charge and nothing to plug in.
Ice With An Upgrade
Four parts, none of them electronic. Each one exists because loose ice on a back slides, warms unevenly and needs a hand holding it.
On The Body
Eight differences between this and a bag of ice held in place by hand or by lying on it.
Closer Look
Fill the cell, open the valve, press the air out, close it. What is left is a thin sheet of ice that takes the shape of your lower back and meets it across the whole area. Hyperice holds a patent on this valve, and it is the reason the wrap sits flat under clothing.
The shell is machine washable premium Plush™ neoprene. It has to do two jobs at once here: stretch enough to pull tight around a torso, and stay soft against skin for as long as the ice lasts. Because the cell lifts out, the fabric half can be washed on its own.
The wrap closes around the torso and the cell sits against the lower back, held by the tension of the neoprene. From there it stays put through standing, sitting and walking around the house, which is what Hyperice means by making icing your back easy to do on the go.
Compare
Two wraps built on the same parts: a Plush™ neoprene shell, an ultra-thin ice cell and the patented air-release valve. What differs is the cut, and therefore the part of the body it will hold onto.
