Iglucraft Wood-Burning Hot Tub

The Iglucraft Wood-Burning Hot Tub is a wood-fired hot tub for up to five bathers, handmade in Estonia and delivered fully assembled. Fill it cold for a plunge after the sauna, or light the stove on a cold evening and it is hot in under two hours. The stove is fitted at the side under a polished stainless chimney, and a durable liner holds the water inside the shingled exterior. The fire does all the heating, so the tub needs no electrical connection at all. Matching wooden steps come with it for climbing in.

The exterior is wrapped in the same triple-layered shingle craft as the Iglucraft saunas, Chestnut for warmth and Black (Ebony) for quiet, built by skilled artisans in Nordic Estonia and delivered fully assembled. Once it is set down on a level site, it is ready for a fill of water and an armful of firewood.

How it works

The Hot Tub uses the same shingle craft as the Iglucraft saunas, paired with a built-in wood-fired stove and a sealed liner.

The wood stove and chimney
An integrated wood stove is fitted at the side of the tub, its polished stainless steel chimney rising above. Feed it kindling and split wood and the water warms quietly from a cold fill. Wherever you can build a fire, you can heat the tub, and burning wood makes it an eco-conscious way to bathe outdoors.

The outside is wrapped in handcrafted wooden shingles, in Chestnut or Black, layered by hand. Inside, a sealed liner holds the water, and an integrated drainage tap empties it when the bath is done. Traditional wood outside and a durable liner inside make it ready to live outdoors all year.

Heating it with wood

Lighting the stove is the warm-up to the bath itself. Lay the kindling, strike the match and feed in split, seasoned firewood as the stove comes up to heat. With the chimney drawing above, the water shifts from cold to warm to hot. Keep the firewood stacked close by, and light the lanterns as the water comes up to temperature.

At 78 in. across, the Hot Tub settles into a deck, a clearing or a corner of a garden. The wooden shingled exterior reads as natural in any setting and has enough character to stand alone in the back yard. Two matching wooden rounds make up the steps, finished to match the exterior, and stepping in feels like part of the same form. Set it beside an Iglusauna for cold plunges between rounds, or string a hammock between two trees and hang a lantern at the edge of the deck.
