Fully Assembled Outdoor Sauna

Iglucraft 4-Person Single Room Iglusauna

The Iglucraft 4-Person Single Room Iglusauna is a fully assembled outdoor sauna for up to four bathers, handmade in Estonia from spruce and aspen shingles. Its curved shape sends the steam up to the ceiling, then lets it drift slowly back down until the heat fills the entire room. The whole building is the sauna, on a square footprint of 94.5 in. a side. It arrives with the benches, door and flooring already fitted, so there is no assembly or construction once it reaches your property. The Stoveman wood-fired stove is included at no charge.

The building stands 100 in. tall and holds 43.1 ft² of usable floor. Each structure is handcrafted shingle by shingle with every fixture and piece of furniture built in, and it ships at 1,980 lbs.

The shell is wooden frame construction under three layers of spruce shingles, with two layers of aspen shingles lining the inside. Benches, backrests and footrests are aspen finished with natural sauna wax, and the flooring is wood in a black finish.

The Build

How it works

Iglucraft builds every Iglusauna by hand in Estonia, pairing centuries-old shingling technology with modern knowledge and craftwork. The shell alone is five layers of shingle deep, three of spruce outside and two of aspen inside.

Spruce shingle exterior
The exterior carries three layers of spruce shingles over a wooden frame, treated with Teknos Aqua Primer tinted with a UV-resistant paint pigment. It comes in an Ebony or Chestnut finish.
Triple-Layered Exterior
Aspen shingle lining
The interior is lined with two layers of aspen shingles, and the seating is the same wood, so everything you sit or lean against is aspen.
Interior Lining
Aspen benches with sauna wax
Benches, backrests and footrests are aspen finished with natural sauna wax. Keeping them clean takes a pH 6-8 natural cleaner and a rinse with clean water at least once a year.
Natural Sauna Wax
Wooden door with a large window
The door is wooden with a large glass window, and a locking mechanism comes fitted as standard. Underfoot, the Single has natural wood flooring in black.

How to use it

Exterior Shell

Spruce Shingles That Need No Coating

Over the curved wooden frame, the spruce shingles overlap three deep. Because the shell is triple-layered, a shingle that cracks as it dries will not leak, and spare shingles and touch-up paint come with the sauna for the odd repair.

  • Wooden frame construction, three layers of spruce shingles outside
  • Teknos Aqua Primer treatment with UV-resistant pigment
  • No additional coating required
  • Spare replacement shingles and touch-up paint sent with the sauna

The Sauna Room

Benches on both sides of one room

Step through the door and you are already in the sauna. A bench runs down each side with the stove centered at the far end, and the room seats up to four bathers across 43.1 ft² of usable floor. Inside, the ceiling rises to 84.25 in. over a square floor of 84.25 by 84.25 in., which gives the stove 333.3 cu. ft. of room to heat. LED lighting is built in and the room is naturally ventilated, with two layers of aspen shingle on the walls and natural wood flooring in black.

The Iglusauna Lineup

How it compares

Every Iglusauna is built by the same method and arrives finished, and they differ in how many rooms sit under the shingles. The Single is the one-room model and the shortest in length at 94.5 in., built for the buyer who wants the sauna and nothing else.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Up to four bathers, in one room. The Single has no antechamber, so the whole building is the sauna, with 43.1 ft² of usable floor inside an exterior of 94.5 x 94.5 x 100 in. The interior is one square room of 84.25 x 84.25 in. with 84.25 in. of height, fitted with aspen seating over a natural wood floor in black. For a separate room to cool down in, the Double adds a relaxing room next to the sauna.
No. Each structure comes with all fixtures and furniture built in, and there is no assembly or construction on your part when it arrives. The benches, the door, the flooring and the shingles are all in place when the building is set down.
The finished building, the Stoveman wood-fired stove at no charge, sauna heater stones, spare shingles and touch-up paint, and a detailed manual. Three electric packages are available as paid upgrades in place of the wood stove: the Saunum Air L 13kW, the HUUM HIVE 12kW with the UKU Wi-Fi controller, and the Harvia Club 12.5kW, a 208 VAC three-phase unit rated for commercial use.
With no additional coating. The exterior shingles are treated with Teknos Aqua Primer tinted with a UV-resistant paint pigment. Shingle is a living material that expands and shrinks with the climate, and some unpainted surfaces can show over time, which is normal and does not affect lifespan. Cracking from drying is normal too and does not cause leaks, because the shingles are triple-layered.
A concrete slab is not required. The Single needs a hard, level surface with measures in place to keep moisture away from the structure, and the foundation has to support the wooden beams under the floor frame at both ends and in the middle. Four types work: brick blocks on a gravel pad, long beams running perpendicular to the base beams, a pillar foundation, or a full-size level slab in concrete or another hard material. That support carries a building that ships at 1,980 lbs on a square 94.5 in. footprint, with a gross buildable area of 48.4 ft².
One, and it is electrical. The sauna needs an electrical connection made by a certified electrician, sized to the heater package you choose. The building arrives with a pre-installed door sensor and an exterior electrical box ready for that connection.
Four combinations, all at the same price: a Black (Ebony) or Chestnut exterior, paired with a Black (Smoke) or Natural interior. Iglucraft makes a wider exterior range than that, so if you have seen a finish elsewhere, ask us about it.
Iglucraft backs the Single with a 5-year warranty on construction works and a 2-year warranty on all components, and the equipment also carries its own manufacturer's warranty.
Fully assembled, on a flatbed, at a shipping weight of 1,980 lbs.
In Estonia. Iglucraft's head office is in Tallinn and production is in Viljandi County, where each sauna is made by hand, and its work was a runner-up in the Dwell 2020 Design Awards.
