STEPR
The STEPR Performance Tread is a commercial-grade treadmill that lets you choose how it accelerates, on a brushless servo motor, a five-layer deck and the LED QuickPace console. It comes in two builds. The PRO tops out at 13.7 mph on a 23 inch belt and the XL at 15.5 mph on a 25 inch belt, and they share the same frame approach, incline range, console and warranty. Both climb to 18% on a deck 63 inches long, with ten years on the frame and no subscription attached to the machine.
The two differ in size and speed. The XL runs a two-inch wider belt, a bigger motor, larger rollers and a higher top end, while the PRO covers the same training at a slightly smaller scale. Either way you get 18% of incline, Performance Mode acceleration control and no subscription attached to the machine.

Control
Most of what makes a treadmill feel quick or slow happens in the second after you press a button. The Performance Tread puts that second under your control, on the console and in the way the belt changes speed.
Shared
The PRO and the XL share the 18% incline, the five-layer deck, the QuickPace console, Performance Mode and the ten-year frame warranty, so the choice between them comes down to size and speed.
Detail

We list the Performance Tread with a PRO build and an XL build, and four specs separate them. Everything else holds: 18% incline, five-layer deck, QuickPace console, and 10 years on the frame with 3 on parts and 2 on labor. All four differences point the same way, so the choice is really one question about scale.

Both decks are 63 inches long, so stride length is covered on either. Width is where they part company at 23 inches on the PRO and 25 on the XL, and that is the figure tall runners and anyone who drifts at speed tends to care about. The XL pairs its extra width with 3.5 inch rollers and a top end of 15.5 mph, while the PRO tops out at 13.7 mph, which works out at a 4:23 minute per mile pace.

The cover is the same on the PRO and the XL: ten years on the frame, three years on parts, two years on labor. There is no membership and no subscription to run the machine, so the console, the metrics and the app connection all work from the day it is installed.
Range
The Performance Tread is the motorised runner in the STEPR range. The ALL-IN Tread XL adds sled and strength work to the deck, and the Treadsled XL drops the motor for a curved manual belt.
