The Therabody SmartGoggles 2nd Gen are heated eye and temple goggles that add gentle pressure and vibration, three therapies in one shell. Heat comes off the inner liner on three settings or not at all. Compression massage presses around the eye area, and vibration runs on three patterns or switches off. A sensor against the cheekbone measures your heart rate. The shell weighs 390 g and blocks 100 percent of light, and a charging cable and a pouch come in the box. Three preset routines are where those therapies are already combined. On the SmartGoggles they are called Smart Relax, Headache and Eye Strain, and Sleep Prep, and each one opens with its own defaults: Smart Relax on low heat with the Pulse vibration, Headache and Eye Strain on medium heat with Wave, and Sleep Prep with the heat off and vibration on its low pattern. A session takes 15 minutes or less. The biometric sensor is the part that makes it feel responsive: the goggles vibrate at a frequency lower than your heart rate, and the app reports your initial, average and final heart rate for the session.

Bluetooth pairs the goggles with the Therabody app, where you can set the heat, the vibration and the length of a treatment yourself, and play from a free catalogue of sound therapies that runs from rain to rolling waves to guided meditation. The curved strap sits just above your ears and adjusts with a slider. The device is FDA Registered, a listing with the agency and not a review of safety or effectiveness, and it is TSA Approved.
