Bear Pro Hybrid Mattress
The Pro Hybrid is the hybrid version of Bear's Pro Foam — same Celliant® infrared cover, same gel-infused memory foam comfort system, with a heavy-duty TitanCore coil support base instead of foundation foam. The coil swap is the difference: it adds the responsive lift that pure foam can't deliver, the airflow that keeps the surface cooler, and the durability that comes from individually wrapped 13.5-gauge steel springs. Engineered for couples and combination sleepers — anyone whose sleep involves frequent repositioning.
The TitanCore coil core is the structural story. 8 inches deep. Up to 1,032 individually wrapped coils per Queen mattress. Thicker 13.5-gauge spring construction — heavier-duty than the coils used in the Bear Original Hybrid. Each coil compresses independently, which means motion from one side of the bed doesn't transfer across to the other. The coils also create constant airflow channels that all-foam construction physically can't provide, which makes the Pro Hybrid run cooler than the Pro Foam over the course of a night.
Above the coils, the foam comfort system mirrors the Pro Foam: a Celliant® infrared cover, quilt foam for surface softness, gel swirl memory foam for contouring and active heat dispersion, and a dynamic transition foam that buffers motion from the coils. Optional Phase Change Material (PCM) cooling upgrade for sleepers who run especially hot. Firmness measures 6/10 on the firmness scale — slightly softer than the Pro Foam's 6.5–7. Earned Sleep Foundation's Best Pressure Relief for Stomach Sleepers and Best Value Gel Mattress, plus Sleepopolis's Best Memory Foam Mattress for Back Pain. Free shipping. 120-night home trial. Limited lifetime warranty.
The Sleep Recovery Stack
Recovery-focused cover, gel-cooling foam comfort, and a heavy-duty TitanCore coil base — three working systems with distinct roles.
What This Mattress Actually Does
The Pro Hybrid was engineered for couples and combination sleepers — people whose sleep involves frequent repositioning and partner motion that needs to be isolated.
Celliant® claim source: 2010 University of California, Irvine pilot sleep study (Hungs & Wang). Results not achieved by all subjects; further studies are warranted before drawing conclusions about Celliant® sleep benefits.
Inside the Build
The Pro Hybrid combines the Pro Foam comfort system with a heavy-duty TitanCore coil base.

A quilted cover woven with Celliant fibers — minerals that absorb body heat and re-emit it as infrared energy in the same wavelength range used in clinical recovery panels. The FDA classifies Celliant products as medical devices and general wellness products. Same Sleep Recovery Technology built across the entire Bear lineup.

A plush quilt foam layer that cushions and cradles your joints on contact. Optional Phase Change Material (PCM) cooling upgrade can be added directly to this layer — for sleepers who want active cool-to-the-touch performance, the PCM upgrade keeps the surface up to 4° cooler for up to 12 hours.

Soothing memory foam infused with cooling gel beads. Memory foam handles the contouring — it's why the body feels cradled rather than pushed back. Gel beads draw heat away from contact points (shoulder, hip, lower back) and disperse it laterally. The result: contouring memory foam without the trapped-heat penalty.

A buffer layer between the foam comfort system and the TitanCore coils below. Its specific job is to dampen motion transfer from the coil core, which is why partner movement doesn't read through to your side of the bed. Without this layer, the coil response below would feel through the comfort layers — which is what makes cheap hybrids feel "springy" in a bad way.

The structural heart of the Pro Hybrid. 8 inches of individually wrapped 13.5-gauge steel coils — up to 1,032 in a Queen-size mattress. Thicker spring construction than the coils in the Bear Original Hybrid, which translates to heavier-duty long-term durability. Each coil compresses independently, isolating motion from one side of the bed to the other. The open coil structure also creates airflow channels that pure-foam construction physically can't provide — a key reason the Pro Hybrid sleeps cooler than the Pro Foam.

The TitanCore coils rest on Bear's DuraDense base foam. The base foam stabilizes the coils above, distributes weight evenly across the support core, and prevents body-shaped impressions that develop in cheaper hybrids over years of use. This is the layer that makes the limited lifetime warranty viable: without it, the coil system would lose structural integrity within a few years.
