Garmin Edge

Garmin Edge Explore 3

The Garmin Edge Explore 3 is an easy-to-use GPS bike computer that puts detailed maps and ride data on a 3 in. color touchscreen. Preloaded bike-specific maps and turn-by-turn guidance let you head down unfamiliar roads and ride them like a local. Route options compare time, bike type and climbing, so your pick suits the day. On a compatible eBike it shows assist level and battery status, with the data varying by eBike model. The battery lasts up to 16 hours in demanding use, or up to 48 hours in battery saver mode. With your phone paired, LiveTrack shares your ride live and incident detection can alert your assistance contacts.

Find My Edge shows the last known location of your Edge on a map in Garmin Connect. Ride to work on the commuter profile and the screen shows how your commuter rides affect your carbon footprint, live and again afterward.

Inside the Edge Explore 3

How it works

eBike smart range routing
Connected wirelessly to a compatible eBike, such as a Bosch smart system or Shimano E-Bike Systems, it reads battery status and assist level. Smart range routing then plans around that battery and alerts you to your range on the course you chose. Data options vary by eBike model.
Course preview
Before a ride it shows the distance, elevation and estimated ride time, the split of paved and unpaved surfaces, the high-traffic roads and the number of road hazards on the course, so you know what to expect.
Up Ahead
Choose the points of interest you want on a course and Up Ahead lists them with how far away each one is, from a cafe stop to the next water fountain or public restroom.
Garmin Link
Power on the Edge with your Garmin smartwatch in range and the two connect by themselves, bringing the watch's wrist-based heart rate estimates onto the bike computer. Wrist-based heart rate can also come from a CIRQA Smart Band.
