Garmin Edge

Garmin Edge 1060

The Garmin Edge 1060 is a GPS cycling computer that listens to you, built for passionate, performance-driven cyclists. A built-in microphone takes hands-free voice commands in select languages, so you can stay on the bar instead of reaching for the screen. Text and voice messages go out through the Garmin Messenger app on your phone, and the built-in speaker answers with navigation and voice prompts. Route options plan around time and bike type, and with a compatible smartphone and the Garmin Connect app, alerts flag road hazards reported by fellow cyclists. The 3.5 in. color touchscreen also has buttons, and the battery runs up to 20 hours in demanding use.

Preloaded maps carry worldwide Trailforks mountain bike trail data, and Forksight mode names the trails ahead with their distance and elevation. On a course, Up Ahead lets you pick the stops worth knowing about, such as cafes, water fountains or restrooms, and shows how far away each one is.

Ride-specific routing plans the course for the bike you are on, whether road, gravel or mountain. Trendline popularity routing builds it from the roads and trails Garmin cyclists travel most, and Free Flow routing finds training routes with fewer stops, intersections or slow sections. Course preview shows distance, elevation, estimated ride time and surface mix before you roll out.

Inside the Edge 1060

How it works

Hands-free voice control
Speak to the Edge 1060 and its built-in microphone takes the command. Voice command performance can vary with riding conditions, and voice commands are available in select languages.
Multi-band GNSS at 5 Hz
It reads GPS, GLONASS and Galileo satellites on more than one signal band, which is multi-band GNSS. In the enduro and downhill profiles, 5 Hz recording saves your track five times a second for a precise record of every descent.
5 Hz
Stamina and power guide
Real-time stamina tracks the energy you have in reserve at your current effort. Power guide turns that into recommended power targets that account for altitude and, with your smartphone and the Garmin Connect app, wind.
Smart fueling
When you follow power guide or a workout, smart fueling gives detailed fueling guidance through the ride. It works from your fitness, the demands of the course, and the heat and humidity.
