iRESTORE Professional | Laser Helmet

iRESTORE Professional Laser Hair Growth System

The iRESTORE Professional Laser Hair Growth System is a laser helmet built around 282 diodes, 82 laser diodes and 200 LEDs, with all 282 of them emitting at 655 nm. Total optical power for the helmet is 1,410 mW. The shell is the longer of the two white helmets in the range, reaching forward to the hairline, out over the temples and down the sides as well as covering the crown, and it weighs 1.25 lb on the head.

A session lasts 25 minutes and the helmet goes on every other day, on non-consecutive days, with a handheld controller carrying the timer display and a cable running to the shell. Power comes from a universal power adapter, so the helmet is corded unless the rechargeable battery pack is added to the order. That pack and the carrying case shaped for this device are both sold separately.

What arrives in the carton is the device, the universal power adapter, the controller with its timer display, a user manual and a quick start guide. Nothing else travels with it, so the case that turns the helmet into luggage and the battery pack that takes it off the wall socket are both separate lines on an order.

Cover on this device runs to 2 years. Returns on these hair devices close 12 months from the date of purchase, the authorization is raised between day 365 and day 400, and a 25 percent service fee applies to the refund. The iRESTORE Professional holds FDA 510(k) clearance K183417. It is a Class II device, product code OAP, under 21 CFR 890.5500. As a laser product the helmet is rated Class 3R, with each laser diode running at under 5 mW, and the cautions packed with it are set out in full below the hardware.

The hardware

Two Hundred and Eighty-Two Diodes on a Single Wavelength

Emitter count, total output and the length of the shell are where this helmet sits apart from the smaller one, and the wavelength and the session pattern are where the two are identical.

01

Eighty-Two Lasers and Two Hundred LEDs

282 emitters fill the inner face of the shell: 82 laser diodes and 200 LEDs. The lasers are the edge-emitting type and the LEDs are super-luminescent diodes, and the two sit interleaved across the whole covered area. Set against the 120 emitters of the iRESTORE Essential, the extra count is mostly LEDs, with 31 more laser diodes on top of that. Neither number varies from one unit to the next, since the inner face carries a fixed array with nothing to add or remove.

282 diodes

02

Fourteen Hundred and Ten Milliwatts in One Shell

Total optical power comes to 1,410 mW, which is the number to read beside the emitter count when two helmets are being compared. The iRESTORE Essential delivers 600 mW over its 120 emitters and the iRESTORE Elite delivers 2,500 mW over 500. Output and count move together on these three helmets, though they do not move at the same rate, so both figures earn a place on a comparison.

1,410 mW

03

A Shell Long Enough for the Temples

The shell on this model is the extended one. Where the smaller helmet concentrates on the top of the head and the crown, this shape carries emitters forward to the hairline, out across the temples and down the sides of the head as well. More area calls for more emitters, since the same spacing across a larger inner face takes more diodes to fill it, and the weight carried on the head rises with it to 1.25 lb.

The Case and the Battery Pack Are Sold Separately

Two accessories are built around this device and neither one arrives with it. The iRESTORE Professional Carrying Case is shaped to the helmet and holds the plug and the battery pack alongside it, and the iRESTORE Rechargeable Battery Pack - Professional and Essential clips to a belt and joins the digital remote magnetically. Both are ordered on their own, and the battery pack carries a 30 day return window where returns on the device run to 12 months with a 25 percent service fee applied to the refund.

The warranty term is 2 years, and returns on the hair devices close at 12 months with a 25 percent service fee applied to the refund.

In detail

The Longer Shell and What Runs It

Inside face of the iRESTORE Professional helmet showing the emitter array

Inside

162 More Diodes Than the iRESTORE Essential

Turn the helmet over and the whole inner face is emitters, 82 laser diodes and 200 LEDs laid across it, 162 more than the 120 in the iRESTORE Essential. The additional area at the front and the sides is what the higher count fills, so the spacing between emitters stays close to that of the smaller helmet while the covered area grows. Every one of the 282 runs at 655 nm, and the total they add up to is 1,410 mW. Nothing on the inner face is adjustable or removable.

  • 82 laser diodes of the edge-emitting type
  • 200 super-luminescent LEDs
  • All 282 emitters at one wavelength, 655 nm

Power

Running the Helmet Off a Belt Pack

As delivered, the helmet is corded: a universal power adapter sits at the wall and a cable runs to the controller. Adding the belt pack changes that, since the pack joins the digital remote magnetically and needs no cable of its own. It stores 3,200 mAh and 16 Wh, drawing 5V/2.4A on charge and delivering 5V/1.5A, and the same pack serves the iRESTORE Professional and any iRESTORE Essential purchased after April 2022, though it cannot be shipped internationally.

  • Universal power adapter in the carton
  • Belt pack joins the digital remote magnetically
  • 3,200 mAh and 16 Wh in the pack
  • 30 day return window on the pack itself

Travel

The Carrying Case Holds the Plug and the Pack

The case built for this helmet is shaped closely to it and takes the power plug and the battery pack in the same compartment, with a handle on the outside for carrying. It is ordered separately, and it is the only case iRESTORE sells on its own for a helmet in this range; the iRESTORE Elite ships with a protective carry case inside its own carton. The case itself is non-refundable under iRESTORE's accessory terms, where the helmet carries a 12 month return term and the battery pack 30 days.

  • Shaped to this helmet and no other
  • Holds the device, the plug and the battery pack
  • Handle on the outside for transport
  • Ordered separately from the helmet
