Large Format Force Plates

Kinvent K-Deltas

K-Deltas are large-surface platforms built around fast force capture during movement. The pair records a jump from the first loading of the plate to the moment of landing, and reports jump height together with indicators drawn from the impulse phase under the counter movement jump and squat jump protocols.

Because each platform reads independently, every trial also produces a left-against-right comparison of lower limb force. Kinvent publish a capacity of 2000 kg per platform, an accuracy figure of ±0.1%, a sampling rate of 1000 Hz / 2000 Hz (Full CoP), and 20 hours of continuous operation per charge.

The Published Numbers

Speed, Capacity And Run Time

Every figure below is one Kinvent state for these platforms. Where they publish nothing, this page says nothing.

Sampling frequency
Kinvent quote 1000 Hz / 2000 Hz, with the 2000 Hz figure attached to full centre of pressure capture. A rate in that band is what makes the short impulse phase of a jump readable as a curve, and it is the reason kinetic detail survives into the analysis.

🏗️
Two tonnes per platform
A stated ceiling of 2000 kg on each plate leaves headroom above a loaded athlete landing from height, which is the load case that matters on a drop or a rebound. The surface is sized for two feet or for a full barbell set-up.

Stated accuracy
Kinvent give ±0.1% for these platforms. It is a figure, and it is the only accuracy statement attached to this product; nothing broader should be read into it.

🔋
Twenty hours per charge
Continuous operation is quoted at 20 hours, which covers a full testing day for a squad without a mid-session charge. Connection to the K-Force app runs over Bluetooth, so no cabling crosses the testing area.

Jump protocols

Height, and the phase that produced it

Two protocols carry the jump testing: the counter movement jump, which uses a dip before take-off, and the squat jump, which starts from a held position. Both return jump height, and both return indicators describing the impulse phase, so a session shows the shape of the force build as well as the result at the top.

Symmetry and load

One platform per leg, one number per side

Standing with a foot on each plate turns any bilateral task into a two-channel measurement. The app reports muscular symmetry and strength for the lower limbs, and separately the ratio between an athlete's ballistic peak force and their isometric peak force. Loads can be stepped through to find the one producing maximum power.

  • Left and right lower limb strength read independently
  • Muscular symmetry across the pair of platforms
  • Ratio of ballistic peak force to isometric peak force
  • Optimal load for maximum power output
  • Balance assessment on the same platforms

Choosing Between The Three Plate Systems

Surface size, capture axis and published sampling rate are what separate these three. Match the system to the task you test most often.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Force during movement, sampled fast enough to describe a jump. From that the app derives jump height, impulse phase indicators, lower limb muscular symmetry and strength, the optimal load for maximum power, and the ratio of ballistic peak force to isometric peak force. Balance assessment runs on the same platforms.
Kinvent state 1000 Hz / 2000 Hz (Full CoP). We publish that string as written: the 2000 Hz figure is the one attached to full centre of pressure capture, and Kinvent do not explain further which mode applies to which protocol.
2000 kg per platform, which Kinvent also express as two tonnes per delta. With one platform under each foot, a bilateral task therefore has four tonnes of capacity beneath it.
Yes, ±0.1%. Kinvent do not publish the test conditions behind that figure, so read it as the manufacturer's own stated accuracy for the platform.
The counter movement jump and the squat jump. Kinvent name both, and both return jump height plus indicators covering the impulse phase that preceded take-off.
It is a value Kinvent list among the outputs: the ratio of an athlete's ballistic peak strength to their isometric peak strength. Both peaks are measured on the platforms, and the app reports the relationship between them.
Two. The standard platform is listed at 27.56" × 8.66" × 18.9" and the XL at 36.61" × 8.27" × 22.83". The larger surface suits wider stances and longer approach tasks.
The specification gives 66.14 lbs for the standard and a second figure of 92.59 lbs. That second value is unlabelled in the listing, and by its position it corresponds to the XL. Confirm with us before you plan a transport case around it.
Over Bluetooth, to the K-Force app. Kinvent quote 20 hours of continuous operation per charge, so a testing day for a full squad runs without interruption for power.
Each platform reads independently, so a bilateral task on two plates produces a separate force record per side and the app reports the symmetry between them. A unilateral task on one platform is recorded on that platform alone.
Scale and speed. The smaller portable plates are built around centre of pressure and weight distribution in standing work. K-Deltas carry a far larger surface, 2000 kg of capacity per plate and a published sampling rate, which is what jump and landing analysis asks for.
Yes. The whole Kinvent range reports into the K-Force app, so a jump trial on the platforms and a dynamometer or EMG measurement from another sensor sit in the same profile.
Strength and conditioning departments, sports medicine teams, performance laboratories and physiotherapy practices doing jump testing and bilateral force comparison as part of routine assessment. The surface size and mass make these a fixed-location instrument.
Kinvent publish no regulatory statement in text for these platforms, and we do not add one. Direct any question about certification or registration in your territory to Kinvent, or ask us to raise it with them.
