Full-Length Cold Plunge

Luxury Spas Cold Plunge Pro XL

Length is the argument for the XL. Its bathing well measures 70 inches from end to end and 23 inches from the floor of the tub to the rim, which is seven inches longer and six inches deeper inside than the standard Pro. Luxury Spas lists it as seating a person up to 6'9". Outside, it takes up 75 by 32 inches of ground and stands 28 inches high.

Everything mechanical is carried inside that cabinet: a 1 HP cool and heat pump rated from 37°F up to 104°F, a circulation pump, and a multi-stage filtration and conditioning system for chilled water. It runs from one dedicated household circuit at 15 amps and 120 volts, drawing 750 watts in total. A side-mounted LED panel handles temperature at the tub, and smartphone connectivity handles it from indoors.

Specification Detail

The XL, Measured

The XL shares its chiller and its electrical requirement with the smaller Pro. Where it differs is the volume of water it asks that chiller to hold, and the room a tall user gets once the lid is off.

📏
70 Inches of Well, 23 Inches Deep
Interior length 70 in, interior width 30 in, interior height 23 in. Luxury Spas rates the fit at up to 6'9", the tallest figure quoted anywhere in this range.

750 Watts, Standard Voltage
A bigger tub does not mean a bigger supply here. The XL asks for the same dedicated 15 amp 120V circuit as the Pro and draws the same 750 watts total.

Filtration Built for Cold Water
Chilled water passes through the multi-stage filtration and conditioning system on its way back into the well. The pump behind it is rated quiet and light on power.

A Well You Can Lie Back In

Interior height is what separates a plunge you sit upright in from one you can settle into. The XL gives you 23 inches of it over a 70 inch length, so a taller user can extend their legs and still get their shoulders under the surface. Interior width stays at 30 inches, the same across the plunge range.

Footprint

75 by 32 Inches on the Ground

The cabinet stands 28 inches tall and measures 75 by 32 inches in plan. Subtract the interior and you can see how the tub is built: two inches of shell and wall across the width, five inches of structure below the well, five inches of cabinet beyond the ends of the water. Plan the pad on the exterior figures and leave access to the panelled side.

  • Exterior: 75 in L x 32 in W x 28 in H
  • Rim height 28 in, five inches taller than the Pro's
  • Side-mounted LED control panel
  • Removable service and ventilation panels for the chiller bay

Running It

One Outlet Circuit, Two Sets of Controls

The XL arrives as a plug and play unit: no separate chiller to site, no external plumbing run, one dedicated 15 amp 120V circuit at 750 watts. Temperature can be set at the side panel or through the smartphone connection, which is the more useful of the two if you want the water at 40°F by the time you finish training.

Three single-person plunges and one dual-well spa. The plunges share a 1 HP chiller and a 750 watt, 15 amp 120V supply, so the choice comes down to interior geometry.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

The difference is size. The XL's well is 70 inches long and 23 inches deep against 63 by 17 on the Pro, and its cabinet is 75 x 32 x 28 inches against 67 x 30 x 23. Chiller, wattage and circuit are identical on both.
Luxury Spas states up to 6'9" for this model. That is the highest figure quoted on any of their plunges and it follows from the 70 inch interior length.
The specification gives a working range of 37°F to 104°F. One of Luxury Spas' metafields quotes a 35°F lower limit. We publish 37°F because that is the figure carried by the Features specification and the product description on this model.
It uses the same 1 HP unit as the smaller Pro. With more water in the well, expect the pull-down to a target temperature to take longer than it would in the Pro. The manufacturer quotes a 31 degree drop on 100 litres in 90 minutes at 59°F ambient.
A dedicated 15 amp 120V circuit, with a total draw of 750 watts. Nothing about the XL calls for 240V service.
Chiller and filtration are both carried within the plunge body, reached through removable service and ventilation panels on the side of the cabinet. Allow clearance on that side at installation.
Yes, up to 104°F. The unit is a cool and heat pump, so a household that wants contrast work in one tub can alternate settings, allowing time for the water to move between the two ends of the range.
A multi-stage filtration and conditioning system treats the chilled water. Its circulation pump is specified as quiet, long-lived and light on electricity.
Smartphone connectivity is included, and there is a side-mounted LED panel at the tub itself. Luxury Spas does not publish app compatibility details, so ask us if a particular platform matters to you.
We will not tell you that it will. Cold water immersion is simply time spent in water held well below body temperature, and it is a habit many athletes build into a training week. Luxury Spas' own copy goes further and describes benefits for the body; those are Luxury Spas' words, and we leave them with Luxury Spas. Treat this as equipment, and check with a clinician before using cold immersion if you are pregnant or managing a cardiovascular or circulatory condition.
Of the three plunges, the XL is the one listed for commercial as well as residential use in our catalogue, and its 120V supply makes it easier to place in a fit-out than a 240V tub. Local codes for commercial installations vary, so confirm requirements with your inspector and with us before you specify it.
This platform carries the manufacturer's 10 year warranty. Ask us and we will forward the current warranty document, which sets out the coverage in Luxury Spas' own terms.
The manual on file for the XL is the shared Luxury Spas Pro manual, which covers setup, water care and chiller service for the Pro platform. If you need XL-specific paperwork, ask us and we will request it from the manufacturer.
No cover or steps are listed in the XL's included-items documentation. Since an uncovered plunge loses cold to the air, ask us about a cover before your order ships so it arrives together.
