Stretch And Balance Frame

NOHRD Elasko Bar

The NOHRD Elasko Bar is a freestanding wooden stretching frame with six solid wood rungs, six side loops and a fold-out mat. A hand or foot finds a fixed hold at any height, from a hamstring position on the mat to the top rung overhead. The frame folds and rolls on integrated wheels, so its 40 kg (88 lb) moves to a wall without two people lifting it. A complimentary app for iOS and Android sets out the workouts, in English and German. It takes a user up to 120 kg (265 lb) and arrives in one package.

The frame works on bodyweight, the hold points built into it and your own leverage. Loading comes from where you place your hands and feet against a fixed frame, so where the rungs and loops sit decides each exercise.

It needs only basic assembly once it arrives, and each of the six woods is offered with artificial or genuine leather on the mat.

How it works

The Elasko Bar gives twelve fixed hold points on one frame, set at different heights and different reaches, with an upholstered mat folding out underneath them.

Solid Wood Rungs
The six rungs are smooth, solid wood, handmade from sustainably sourced timber. Their spacing up the frame sets the reach you can work at, from a foot on a low rung to the overhead hold.

Side Loops
Six loops run down the sides of the frame and give hold points that a rung cannot, because they sit outboard of the uprights and take a hand or a foot at an angle. Between the rungs and the loops there are twelve fixed places to anchor a limb, at heights spread through the full 137 cm of the frame. The loops also give something to hold while the rest of the body is on the mat, the position most floor work on this frame starts from.

Bodyweight Training
All the load comes from bodyweight and your leverage on a fixed timber frame, in the same way it does on a set of wall bars. The integrated mat gives floor exercises comfort and support, and the frame gives the standing ones a fixed hold. Move into each stretch under control and build it gradually, and a sudden pull is never part of the work.

The frame

Folding Frame

Open, the Elasko Bar stands 137 cm tall on a footprint of 158 x 79 cm, with six rungs running up the uprights and six loops down the sides. Wheels are built into the frame and it folds, so the same frame tips and rolls to a wall when the session ends and comes back out without a second pair of hands. Unfold it fully on a firm, dry, non-slip floor before each session, and keep fingers clear of the folding mechanism as it opens and closes.

Leather Upholstery

The mat folds out of the frame and gives a padded surface to stand, kneel or lie on while the hands are working the rungs and the loops above. It is offered in artificial leather or genuine leather on every wood, with a Walnut Natural leather as a further option.

The wood

The Wood Finish

The Oak version is real oak, and the Vintage finish gives the rungs and uprights an aged look. Wooden surfaces are finished in NOHRD's hard wax oil, and the NOHRD Care Set holds the wood care oil, lubricant, fleece and cloths for keeping them that way. Treat the wood only with care products approved for solid wood, and replace a worn part only with an original NOHRD part. Wood is a natural material, and its grain and color vary from frame to frame. Under intensive use, give the frame a visual check at least every three months.

Training Focus

NOHRD built the frame for stretch and balance training, and mobility and flexibility lead the work on the Elasko Bar, with core stability, balance and body control, strength and muscle tone, and coordination and posture trained alongside them. A held stretch uses the frame as a fixed point and the mat as a floor, and a balance exercise uses a single rung or loop as the one thing you hold.

No. The Elasko Bar has no resistance bands and no band tensions. It is a fixed wooden frame worked on bodyweight and leverage, in the same way wall bars are.

The frame is rated for a user up to 120 kg, or 265 lb, and children use it only under supervision.

It has six solid wood rungs and six side loops. The rungs are set at different heights up the uprights and the loops sit outboard on the sides, which puts a hold within reach at floor level, at hip height and overhead.

Yes. The frame is foldable and runs on integrated wheels, and it tips and rolls to a wall when you are done. At 40 kg (88 lb), the wheels make it moveable once it is in the room.

It needs only basic assembly, and it ships in one package with nothing to fix to a wall. Once it is in the room, the frame moves on its own two transport wheels.

The fold-out mat comes in artificial leather or genuine leather on all six woods, with a Walnut Natural leather as a further option. The artificial leather wipes clean with a damp cloth, and the genuine leather mellows with handling.
