NOHrD | NIM SpineCoach
The NOHRD NIM SpineCoach is a roller training unit built around a Blackroll mechanism held in a metal frame on precision ball bearings. It measures 49.5 x 19.5 x 27.5 cm and weighs 5 kg, so it sits on a floor, under a desk or beside a machine without taking a corner of the room. The bearings are what separate it from a loose fascia roller: the roller turns in a fixed frame, on a fixed axis, so it stays where you put it while you work on it.
It also doubles as a seat for the NOHRD SlimBeam cable machine. The seat swivels and adjusts for height, and the accessory adapter for fitting it to the beam is included with the unit, so a SlimBeam owner gets a seated position for cable work and a roller trainer in the same 5 kg item. Mobility, strength, stretching, fascia and relaxation exercises are the categories it is built around, and nothing on it is powered or adjusted with tools.
The SpineCoach comes from NIM, short for Natural Intelligent Movement, founded by Christiane Figura, whose training concept the unit was developed from. Assembly is not required and it ships as a single package, so it is in use the day it arrives.
The mechanism
A Blackroll mechanism sits in a metal frame on ball bearings, which is the whole engineering argument for the SpineCoach over a loose roller on the floor. The frame fixes the axis and the bearings carry the turn.
01
The roller is a Blackroll mechanism mounted in a metal frame and turning on ball bearings. A loose foam roller moves in every direction at once and has to be chased back into position between repetitions; a bearing-mounted roller turns on one axis and stays put. That fixed geometry is what makes a movement repeatable from one session to the next, because the roller is in the same place every time you come back to it. The frame takes the load and the bearings take the rotation.

The same unit works as a seat for the SlimBeam cable machine, swivelling and adjustable for height, with the accessory adapter for the beam included in the box. A SlimBeam owner therefore gets a seated position for cable work without buying a bench, and the seat lives as a roller trainer the rest of the time. Swivel matters on a cable machine, where the working direction changes between exercises and the seat has to follow. Height adjustment sets it against the butterfly arm wherever you have that set.

At 49.5 x 19.5 x 27.5 cm and 5 kg the SpineCoach is small enough to carry in one hand and to store under a desk or beside a machine. That size is the practical case for it in a treatment room or a home gym where floor space is already spoken for. It arrives in a single package with no assembly, so the box is opened and the first session happens the same afternoon. Nothing on it needs power, tools or a wall.

NIM stands for Natural Intelligent Movement, the training concept founded by Christiane Figura, and the SpineCoach was developed out of that work. The exercise categories the unit is built around are mobility, strength, stretching, fascia and relaxation, which is a wider brief than a plain roller is usually given. Five categories on one frame are why NOHrD sells it as a training system and not as an accessory. The hardware is the same in every one of them.

Ownership
Five kilograms, one package and nothing to build is the whole of it. The eight figures below cover the size, the fitment to a SlimBeam, the materials and the cover behind it.
01
Light enough to move between rooms and to lift onto a SlimBeam without help.
02
19.5 cm wide and 27.5 cm tall, which fits under a desk or against a skirting board.
03
The accessory adapter for fitting it to a SlimBeam comes with the unit.
04
Height-adjustable and swivelling, so the seat follows the working direction on the beam.
05
The roller is carried in a metal frame on ball bearings, with a fixed axis of rotation.
06
The SpineCoach arrives as one package and works straight out of the box. There is nothing to bolt, tension or calibrate.
07
Entirely mechanical, so it goes anywhere in a room with no regard to sockets.
08
NOHrD covers the unit for one year from shipment, going to two years if you register within that first year.
In detail
The roller
The Blackroll mechanism on the SpineCoach turns in a metal frame on ball bearings, which fixes where the roller is and which way it can move. A loose roller on a floor slides, rolls away and ends up at a different angle every time, and most of the effort in using one goes into holding it still. On the SpineCoach the frame takes care of that for you. The bearings mean the roller still turns freely under load, so the movement itself is unchanged; what changes is that you are not chasing the equipment around the floor. Mobility, stretching and fascia work all use the same roller in the same fixed position.
On the SlimBeam
A cable machine covers most of its exercise list standing, but seated rows, seated presses and seated pulldowns all want something to sit on, and a SlimBeam does not arrive with one. The SpineCoach fills that gap: it adjusts for height, it swivels so the seat follows whichever way the cable is being worked, and the accessory adapter that fits it to the beam is in the box already. Because it is 5 kg and 49.5 cm long, it comes off the beam and goes back to being a roller trainer in the time it takes to carry it across the room. For a SlimBeam owner that makes it two purchases in one.
The SlimBeam system
The SpineCoach is one of four parts that decide what a SlimBeam does once it is on the wall, alongside the machine itself, an overhead pulling set and the clamp that takes the beam onto a ceiling.
You're Here
A Blackroll mechanism on a metal frame that doubles as a height-adjustable swivelling seat for the beam.
The wall-mounted beam itself: 75 kg stack, 3:1 cable, butterfly arm, 215 cm tall and 20 cm into the room.
The overhead pulling upgrade for a SlimBeam, assembled onto the beam above the butterfly.
Clamps the beam to the ceiling for a room with no load-bearing wall to bolt into.
Questions
Yes, and the accessory adapter for fitting it is included with the unit. On the beam it works as a height-adjustable swivelling seat, so seated rows, presses and pulldowns on a SlimBeam all start from the right height. Off the beam it goes back to being a roller trainer.
A Blackroll mechanism held in a metal frame on precision ball bearings. The frame fixes the roller's position and axis, and the bearings let it turn freely under load, so the roller does not slide away or change angle between repetitions.
A plain roller is a loose cylinder on the floor. The SpineCoach mounts the same kind of roller in a frame on bearings, so it has a fixed position and one axis of rotation, and it adds a second function as a seat for a cable machine. It is also heavier at 5 kg and larger at 49.5 x 19.5 x 27.5 cm, because there is a frame around it.
49.5 x 19.5 x 27.5 cm and 5 kg. It goes under a desk, along a skirting board or beside a machine, and it is carried in one hand between rooms or up onto a SlimBeam.
Mobility, strength, stretching, fascia and relaxation exercises are the five categories the unit is built around. All five use the same roller in the same frame, with the position of your body doing the work of changing the exercise.
One year from the date of first shipment, extended to two years on all components by registering the product within the first year of purchase. Spare parts carry ninety days, and the cover applies to private and commercial use alike.

No. It ships as one package and is used out of the box, adapter included. Fitting it to a SlimBeam is a matter of putting it on the beam with that adapter and setting the height.
Yes. The roller trainer works on its own on a floor, and the seat function is there for anyone who later adds a SlimBeam cable machine. Buyers who own a beam already tend to buy it for both jobs at once.
