The Osaki 4D Aeris Duo is a dual mechanism massage chair, model RT5951F, that puts a second roller unit on your waist and hips, with both units sharing one 1431 mm SL-Track. That track is a single rail following the curve of your spine and continuing beneath the seat. The upper unit is 4D, so its four-ball head varies depth and speed as it travels along 840 mm of the rail. The lower unit is 2D, moving up and across without leaving the backrest, and it covers 830 mm across your waist and hips. Where the two ranges overlap, 360 mm over your waist, either head can reach you.

The 4D head sits on a nylon fiberglass curved arm with its own walking, kneading and tapping motors and an independent radial pump. Behind the hard curved arm is the soft-touch airbag, and the head protrudes 60 mm. The 2D head sits on a fiberglass spring curved arm with synchronous kneading and walking motors. Around that track sit 44 airbags on 7 valves: 12 at the feet, 8 at the legs, 16 across the arms, 4 at the hip sides and 4 at the shoulders. The waist carries two 370 x 120 mm carbon fiber heating elements with three levels, and an air cooling circuit with three levels of airflow through the same section. How it works

A dual mechanism chair at the entry of the range, the Aeris Duo runs two mechanisms on one 1431 mm track, feeds forty-four airbags independently, heats and cools the waist, and reacts to a pinch in 50 ms.

360 mm of Track Where Both Units Overlap

The 4D upper mechanism and the 2D waist and hip mechanism run at the same time on one 1431 mm SL track. The upper unit covers 840 mm, the lower covers 830 mm, and the two working ranges share 360 mm of track over your waist. A single mechanism chair has to travel the whole 1431 mm to reach your hips, and the Aeris Duo keeps a head stationed at each end of it. The 4D unit has five intensity levels; massage speed runs across six.

Twelve airbags at the feet, eight at the legs, sixteen across the arms, four at the hip sides and four at the shoulders, all fed through seven valves. Seven valves across 44 bags means the airbags are driven in groups, not all off one line. Waist Heat and Waist Cooling

Two 370 x 120 mm carbon fiber elements heat the waist across three adjustable levels. A separate air cooling circuit moves air through the same section at three levels of airflow. The two run independently, so you take the cooling in summer and the heat in autumn and winter without changing anything else about the program.

A 360 Degree Leg and Foot System

The lower half of the chair carries its own hardware, separate from the roller track that runs above it. Calves get kneading, rubbing and scraping from triple-row rollers with airbags on both sides. The soles get three-disc scraping that alternates forward and reverse, with airbags on both sides of the feet. The whole assembly extends itself 130 mm forward and back to meet different leg lengths, and the angle adjusts across a range of 16.5 to 89 degrees. A short user and a tall user get the same contact under the calf and the same contact under the sole.

Two-Direction Ankle Twisting

The ankle mechanism twists in two directions, and it runs independently of the calf rollers above it and the sole discs below it. The joint turns through an arc while the muscle either side of it is kneaded and the sole is scraped. It sits inside the same legrest that extends 130 mm forward and back and swings through an angle of 16.5 to 89 degrees. The twist lands at the same point on your ankle whatever the length of your leg. The legrest and the calf rests are the two places on the Aeris Duo where the chair closes around a joint. Both carry anti-pinch detection: capacitive at the calf rests, infrared dual-beam at the legrest and the seat frame, and 50 ms from detection to stop.

Position

Two Stored Angles Between 131 and 156 Degrees

The backrest holds two stored zero gravity positions between 131 and 156 degrees, so the shallower and the deeper recline are both one button away. One Touch Rocking moves the whole frame separately from the recline. Before a program starts, the chair scans the body to place the shoulder position, and that position can then be nudged by hand from the controller. Upright the chair occupies 1650 mm front to back and stands 1150 mm tall. Reclined it occupies 2050 mm and stands 830 mm, which is roughly 80.7 in. by 32.7 in.

It runs across five intensity levels. The 2D unit is a four-ball head on a fiberglass spring curved arm with synchronous kneading and walking motors, built for the waist and hips. The unusual part of the design is that both mechanisms run at the same time on one track.

Heat at the waist is common at this size of chair, and active air cooling at the waist is rare on a chair at this level of the range.
