Osaki | Model Ai Envy

Osaki Ai Envy Massage Chair

The Osaki Ai Envy is a 3D massage chair, which means its rollers travel in and out of the backrest as well as up, down and across. Rest your fingers and palms on the AI body condition detector and hold still, and it reads slight variations in your heart rate. The chair turns that reading into a program, with the areas worked and the roller pressure set to match. A heart rate monitor also sits on the Osaki OS-4000XT, though only the Ai Envy turns the reading into a program. The detector diagnoses nothing and it is not a medical device.

Around that sensor sit the most air cells and the highest user rating in the group of four below. Thirty-eight air cells are placed through the chair for full body air massage, and maximum user weight is 280 lb. An SL-track is the single rail that runs the 3D roller from your head to your hamstrings, in laser-crafted steel. It combines the S curve that follows the shape of your spine with the L extension that carries on under the seat. A stroke that starts at your neck finishes past your glutes, at the top of the hamstrings. An S-track massage chair runs the same curve but stops at the lower back. An L-track chair such as the Osaki OS-4000XT below runs the under-seat extension without the contoured upper curve. Infrared heat pads warm the lumbar and the calves. The footrest extends itself up to 6.5 in. once the body scan has measured your leg. The side coverings and the speakers are built to keep the room out. Twelve auto programs and six manual programs run from a tablet controller.

Inside the chair

How it works

Most of what the Ai Envy does happens before the rollers finish their first pass, with a body condition detector reading you, 38 air cells wrapping you, infrared pads warming you and a footrest sizing itself to your leg.

The AI Body Condition Detector
Place your fingers and palms on the sensor and hold still. It reads slight variations in your heart rate, and the chair converts that reading into settings: a program, a set of areas to work and a pressure to work them at. It diagnoses nothing, it reports nothing back to you, and it is not a medical device. The twelve auto programs and six manual programs stay available underneath it, so the reading gives you a starting point and the tablet controller gives you the last word.
Read through the hands
Thirty-Eight Air Cells
Rollers press one point at a time and travel to the next one along the track. An air cell is the bladder that works the other way: it inflates against a whole limb, holds the squeeze, and lets go. The two sensations are separate and a good chair gives you both, which is why the cell count is worth reading. The Ai Envy places thirty-eight of them through the frame, the highest count of the four chairs compared below, and they work your limbs while the 3D roller works the track.
38 cells
Infrared Pads You Switch On Separately
Infrared heat pads sit in the lumbar area and inside the calf sections, giving off a gentle warmth while the massage runs. You control the heat from the remote, so you can put it on your back only, your calves only, or both at once, and leave it off entirely on a warm evening.
Two heated zones
A Footrest That Measures You
The footrest extends up to 6.5 in., and it does it by itself. The built-in body scan reads the length of your leg and drives the extension to match. Your calves stay supported and your feet stay on the rollers, with nobody pressing forward to find the right stop. On a chair two people share, that is one fewer thing to reset between sessions.

How to use it

Hands and feet

Direct Contact Where the Air Only Squeezes

The Ai Envy works the two parts of you a massage chair usually reaches last. Mini nodes are set into the armrests for hand reflexology, sitting under your palms while the rest of the chair runs. At the bottom of the footrest, two specialized rollers turn under your soles with nodes along their surface. They press at the ball, the arch and the heel the way a thumb would, and the nodes sit at reflexology points. Both are hardware working the same regions the airbags already cover, and both give you direct contact where the air gives you a squeeze.

  • Mini nodes in the armrests for hand reflexology
  • Two specialized foot rollers with nodes along the surface
  • Pressure at the ball, the arch and the heel of the foot
  • Nodes placed at reflexology points
  • Automatic extendable footrest, up to 6.5 in.

Controls and quiet

White Noise From the Speakers by Your Head

The main controller is a tablet touchscreen holding the twelve auto programs, the six manual programs and the chair's settings. For the changes you make with your eyes closed there are shortcut panels on the side of the chair, right by the armrest. The quiet is built in as deliberately as the controls are: side coverings around your head block some of the surrounding sound, and the built-in speakers emit white noise on top of that. Those same dual speakers take Bluetooth audio from your phone, and there is USB charging in the chair. Lift the headrest out and the rollers come closer through your neck and upper shoulders.

Footprint and fit

31 in. Wide, 74 in. Reclined, 280 lb

Of the four chairs compared below, the Ai Envy reclines the longest and takes the highest user weight, though the Ador 3D Allure is wider. Upright it measures 31.0 by 62.5 by 50.0 in. Reclined it stretches to 74.0 in. long and drops to 39.5 in. tall. The chair weighs 236 lb and takes a maximum user weight of 280 lb. Minimum door width is 31.0 in., which is the chair's own width, so measure the narrowest inner point of your frame. Space-saving is the technology that glides the chair forward as the backrest lowers, so 3 in. behind it is enough for a full recline. Seat width is 20.5 in. and the shoulder opening is 19.5 in., measured across your shoulders while seated.

  • Upright 31.0 x 62.5 x 50.0 in.
  • Reclined 31.0 x 74.0 x 39.5 in.

  • Minimum door width 31.0 in.
  • 3 in. of wall clearance for a full recline
  • Seat width 20.5 in., shoulder width 19.5 in.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

You place your fingers and palms on the sensor and hold still. The system reads slight variations in your heart rate and builds a session out of that reading, setting the program, the areas worked and the pressure without you choosing from a menu first. It is a comfort feature on a consumer chair. It diagnoses nothing and it is not a medical device.
The massage heads move up and down, side to side, and in and out from the backrest. That third direction gives a 3D massage chair adjustable pressure, which a 2D massage chair does not have. A 2D mechanism, such as the one in the Osaki OS-4000XT, travels the track at a fixed depth. A 3D mechanism pushes the heads further out of the backrest or pulls them back, so you set how hard the stroke presses. The unit in the Ai Envy is the latest generation of Osaki's robotic 3D system, holding a consistent pressure from your shoulders to your lower back as it works.
Two jobs. It detects your individual shape and size so the roller work lands where your body actually is, and it measures your leg length and drives the footrest extension to match. The scan is why the footrest on this chair sets itself.
38, placed through the chair for a full-body air massage. At 38 cells the Ai Envy carries more than the 24 in the Osaki OS-Tao 3D. Air compression squeezes a whole limb at once, which is a different sensation from the point pressure of the rollers. The cells fire in groups, so a squeeze travels along your arm or your leg from one end to the other.
Infrared heat pads in the lumbar and the calves. Warmth lands on your low back and your lower legs while the rollers and the leg air compression run. You switch it on and off from the remote.
Automatically, up to 6.5 inches. The body scan reads your leg length and the chair sets the extension itself, so there is nothing to push against and nothing to reset when somebody taller sits down next.
Yes. The Ai Envy has mini nodes in the armrests for acupuncture hand reflexology, and they sit under your palms while the rest of the chair runs.
Two specialized foot rollers at the bottom of the footrest. Nodes along their surface rotate against your sole, pressing at the ball, arch and heel the way a thumb would, and the nodes sit at reflexology points.
A tablet touchscreen controller carries the twelve auto programs, six manual programs and the settings. Shortcut panels on the side of the chair handle quick adjustments without picking the tablet up. Dual Bluetooth speakers and USB charging are built in, and the headrest is removable.
Two things. Side coverings on the chair block part of the surrounding sound, and the built-in speakers emit white noise to cover the rest. It is aimed at a chair used in a room where other people are awake.
Two-stage, reclining to approximately 165 degrees with your legs raised to heart level. Your weight spreads across the whole backrest in that position, so the rollers meet your spine with less of your body weight fighting them.
Upright: 31.0 by 62.5 by 50.0 in. Reclined: 31.0 by 74.0 by 39.5 in. The chair weighs 236 lb, and space-saving technology means 3 in. of wall clearance is enough for a full recline, because the base glides toward the room as the backrest goes down. Seat width is 20.5 in. The minimum door width is 31.0 in., the same figure as the chair's own width. Measure the narrowest inner point of the frame, and every turn on the delivery route, before the chair arrives.
280 lb. The shoulder opening is 19.5 in. and the seat is 20.5 in. across, and on a chair rated this high those two figures shape how a larger user sits in it as much as the weight rating does.
