Osaki | Manhattan Duo Mech 4D
The Osaki Manhattan Duo Mech 4D Massage Chair works your back and your lower body in the same minute, with two roller units on one SL-Track. The SL-Track is a single rail carrying the rollers from your neck through your glutes to the top of your hamstrings. The upper unit is 4D, so its rollers move up, down, across, in and out while changing speed. The lower unit is 3D, the same movement at a steady speed, and it stays on your glutes and hamstrings. Both run inside one program at once, a tier above single-mechanism 4D models, whose one carriage can only be in one place at a time.
The other half of what you are buying sits in the left armrest. Hold the sensor there and the Manhattan Duo Mech 4D reads five things: heart rate, blood oxygen, microcirculation, heart rate variability and a fatigue index. The AI health monitor picks your program out of those readings. Sixteen auto programs and seven manual programs sit underneath. They run on an SL-track that carries the rollers from your neck through your glutes to the top of your hamstrings in one path. An S-track is the shorter rail on a massage chair, and it stops at your lower back. Around it sit 26 air cells for full body compression and carbon fiber heat at the lumbar, the seat and the calves. The mechanism is built to run quiet, the legrest extends 10 in. on its own to reach a 6 ft 4 in. user, and the chair reclines fully with 5.9 in. behind it. Maximum user weight is 260 lb, and the upholstery comes in Black, Brown and Taupe.
Inside the chair
A second roller unit shares the track, a sensor in the armrest picks your program from five readings, and a body scan finds your shoulders before the first stroke, all on a chair built to run quietly enough for a shared room.
The build
The Manhattan Duo brings 26 air cells, 16 auto programs and 7 manual programs, and a legrest that reaches a 6 ft 4 in. user, into any room with 5.9 in. behind it.
Closer look
Ten inches of automatic travel is a long reach for a legrest, and it arrives in two parts: 7.5 in. at the foot section and 2.5 in. at the calf. You drive it from the remote, and it takes the chair up to a 6 ft 4 in. user, the longest automatic legrest travel of the five dual-mechanism chairs compared below. Inside the calf rest sit 8 air cells for deep calf kneading. Under your feet, memory foam and rollers work the sides and tops of your feet and the Achilles tendon.
The left armrest holds the AI health sensor. Both armrests carry a quick side control panel, so the adjustments you make most often happen under your hand while you are lying back with the touchscreen out of reach. Hand reflexology massage runs inside the same armrests, with air cells closing around each hand while the rollers work your back. The surfaces are finished in a wood grain pattern, so the armrests read as furniture rather than as equipment.
Osaki slimmed the controller down from the previous generation, and the thinner 7 in. touchscreen is your main way through the 16 auto programs and 7 manual programs. Voice control starts a session with your hands where they are, once you wake the chair with its spoken wake command. The quick side panels handle the fast adjustments. Around all of it sit Bluetooth surround speakers, a wireless charger and a USB port. There is a removable pillow for a deeper back massage, and LED lighting with 7 colors plus a rainbow setting on each side.
Compare
The Manhattan Duo Mech 4D works your lower body with a second roller unit while the first works your back, and it is the only one of the five to pair quiet running with an AI health monitor.
