Osaki | OS-Champ
The Osaki OS-Champ is a 2D massage chair on an L-Track, so one stroke runs from your neck through the lower back and on under the seat, across your glutes and hamstrings. A 2D mechanism moves the rollers up, down and side to side at a fixed depth. Spot and partial modes park the rollers on one area and hold them there when it needs the attention. Eighteen airbags at the shoulders, arms, calves and feet cover what the rollers cannot reach. The full body air program adds the palms, lower back, buttocks and thighs.
Four of the five auto programs run 15 minutes and the Demo runs 5, with five massage styles underneath them and a timer you can set from 5 to 30 minutes. Two heating pads sit at the lumbar. Reflexology is the pressing of specific points on the sole of the foot, and two spinning reflexology rollers turn under your feet to reach them. An ankle grip holds each foot in place, and the footrest extends up to 7.6 in. Zero gravity is the recline that lifts your knees above your heart, so your spine stops carrying your weight, and the OS-Champ stops at two stages of it. Space saving technology pulls the base forward as the backrest drops, so the chair recovers 9 in. it would otherwise take out of the room behind it. The chair weighs 203 lb net, takes a user up to 260 lb, and comes in three two-tone colorways.
Inside the chair
An S-track chair stops the rollers at the lower back and leaves the seat to airbags, while the OS-Champ's full L-Track keeps roller contact going all the way to the hamstrings.
The list
The OS-Champ brings 18 airbags, two stages of Zero Gravity and 9 in. of space recovered as the base slides forward, with every feature standard in all three two-tone colorways.
Closer look
Four of the five auto programs on the OS-Champ run for 15 minutes. Relax is the full body program, opening with slow kneading and heavy tapping before moving into deeper work at the neck and the lower back. Stretch is the full body stretching program, taking in the back muscles, the hands and the hamstrings. Upper Back and Lower Back are the two sectional programs, and Upper Back covers the head, neck and shoulder area with the massage style set by hand on the remote. Demo is a 5 minute run through what the chair can do, which is the program to use on someone sitting in it for the first time. Five massage styles sit underneath the automatic side for manual work, and the session timer can be set to 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 minutes.
Two spinning reflexology rollers turn in the base of the footwells in a kneading pattern, and the foot airbags inflate around them so your sole is held down against the roller as it spins. Separately, an ankle grip function closes around the ankle and holds the foot steady in the well, so the foot stays where the hardware expects it through the whole program. Above the footwells the footrest extends manually up to 7.6 in., which is how the same chair fits a range of leg lengths and keeps each user's calves seated inside the calf airbags. Setting the footrest correctly is what puts the calf and foot compression where it belongs, and it takes a few seconds before the first session.
Upright, the OS-Champ measures 29.5 in. wide by 57.1 in. long by 44.1 in. tall. Fully reclined it measures 29.5 in. by 78.0 in. by 33.9 in., so the chair gains 20.9 in. of length across the recline while its height drops 10.2 in. Width never changes: 29.5 in. in both positions, and 29.5 in. is also the minimum doorway you need. Inside the frame, the shoulder opening is 18 in. across and the seat is 20.5 in. across, with a 260 lb maximum user weight. The chair weighs 203 lb net and 234 lb in its packaging. Two cords are worth knowing about: the 59.0 in. controller wire and the 70.9 in. power supply wire. The power wire sets how far the chair can sit from an outlet.
Compare
The OS-Champ shares a 2D mechanism, foot rollers and lumbar heat with the chairs beside it, and differs from them in track shape, in its 18 airbags and in its five auto programs.
