SaunaLife SaunaTrekker XL Portable Sauna Tent

The SaunaTrekker XL is the dome-shaped tent in the SaunaLife range, and the shape is what separates it from the rest: the standard SaunaTrekker is a cube, while the XL arcs overhead and curves away at the walls, so the two are different structures and the XL is not a larger version of the cube. Inside, it runs 157.1 inches wide by 165 inches deep by 78.4 inches high and takes up to six people. The wall is a three-layer build, with a 420 denier oxford polyester outer shell under a waterproof coating, a 150 g/m2 polyester fiber-fill core, and a smooth 210 denier oxford polyester radiant inner lining.

The frame comes pre-assembled and fully integrated, so there are no loose poles to sort through and no tools to find before you raise it. Ventilation openings are built into the structure, with a heat release roof vent at the top of the dome and an airflow vent lower down, and the window panels around the walls roll up and strap back. The tent packs into the bag it ships with, along with its storm lines and an installation manual, at a shipping weight of 80 lbs. No heater is included; the Titan SL1 gas sauna heater is the one the XL is built to take.

Three Layers in a Single Wall
The outer shell is 420 denier oxford polyester carrying a waterproof coating. Behind it sits a 150 g/m2 100 percent polyester fiber fill, and the surface you touch from inside is a smooth 210 denier oxford polyester lining.

The XL Is Built as a Dome

The XL Takes a Dome Shape

Looking up from inside, the XL is a dome: the frame arcs overhead and the wall curves away from you, with window panels set around the sides. The standard SaunaTrekker is a cube, so these are two different structures and the XL is not that tent at a larger size. The interior runs 157.1 inches wide by 165 inches deep by 78.4 inches high, which puts more than thirteen feet of floor in each direction and room for up to six people to sit.

Three Layers Wrapped Around the Dome

The quilting you can see from inside is the middle of three layers. The outer shell is heavy-duty 420 denier oxford polyester with a waterproof coating, the core is a 150 g/m2 100 percent polyester fiber fill, and the inner surface is a smooth 210 denier oxford polyester radiant lining. The same quilted build runs across the floor panel and up the curve of the wall, the exterior is waterproof and weather-resistant, and there is no wood anywhere in the tent to swell, split or need storing indoors.

Windows and Vents

Windows That Roll Up and Strap Back

Each window panel rolls up and is held open by a strap, so you can open the dome out or close it in without removing anything or storing a loose panel. Air has two openings of its own, a heat release roof vent at the top of the dome and an airflow vent set lower in the wall, and both are part of the structure. From inside, the curve of the wall carries its own vent panel, and the roof vent shows as a raised detail on the outside of the dome.

Packing the Dome Back Into Its Bag

The tent, its storm lines and the manual all go back into the bag that comes with it, and the bag is sized to be carried between two people across a field or loaded into the back of a vehicle alongside the heater. The packed bundle travels by parcel carrier at 55 by 20 by 20 inches and a shipping weight of 80 lbs, so it goes out as one long, narrow package with nothing loose to keep track of.

Questions About the SaunaTrekker XL

Up to six. The interior floor measures 157.1 inches by 165 inches, which is more than thirteen feet in each direction. Seating is not part of the tent, so how you actually fill it depends on what you put inside.
No. The standard SaunaTrekker is a cube with a 70" x 70" x 78" interior. The XL is a dome with a 157.1" x 165" x 78.4" interior. They share the three-layer wall, the pre-assembled frame and the same heater, but the structures are different and the XL is not the cube at a larger size.
The Titan SL1 Gas Sauna Heater, which SaunaLife sells with both tents as one portable set. The heater is not included: the box holds the tent, storm lines, bag and manual. Read both manuals before running a gas heater inside the tent.

Yes. The window panels roll up and strap back, and they work as windows or as openings depending on how far you roll them. For air there are two dedicated vents, a heat release roof vent at the top of the dome and an airflow vent in the wall, both integrated into the structure.
The SaunaTrekker Bench fits both the SaunaTrekker and the SaunaTrekker XL, and folds flat for transport. The SaunaTrekker Tent Connector joins two standard-size SaunaTrekker tents to each other, and the XL is not one of the tents it fits, so do not buy the connector expecting it to work with this dome.
