The Sports Attack Junior Hack Attack Softball Pitching Machine is a three-wheel softball pitching machine that Sports Attack builds for developing young players. A quick turn of the dials throws fastballs 43 feet at 60+ MPH, along with risers, drops, right- and left-handed curves, screwballs and knuckleball changeups. Each of its three concave 13 in. throwing wheels runs on its own variable speed motor. The exclusive three-wheel vision lets the hitter see the ball clearly, the way it comes off a live pitcher. At 82 lbs it fits into any compact car, including a Mini Cooper.

One person walks it around the field, and it breaks down for the trip home. It is the only pitching machine that converts quickly to throw a special 7.5 in. diameter vision training ball, and it runs on 110V, with a 220/240V version available.

How it works

Vision through the release
The ball stays in view through the feeding motion, the acceleration and the release. The hitter sees when to stride and sees the angle of release, which puts timing and vision at the center of the design.

Inside/outside adjustment
A handle shifts ball location at the plate. The first pitch is centered with the machine standing where it is, and the operator moves the pitch inside or outside with a turn.

Vision training ball conversion
The Junior Hack Attack converts quickly to throw a special 7.5 in. diameter vision training ball, a smaller size that forces centering and tracking while proper hitting mechanics are held. The conversion fits a matching ball chute and slides the top wheels closer, and the ball is fed by hand.

Why a young hitter sees more off three wheels

The three-wheel head holds the ball in the open through the feed, the acceleration and the release, and the stride cue and the release angle both arrive on time. In developing hitters, especially at younger ages, timing and vision come first.

Move the pitch without moving the machine

The inside/outside handle changes ball location at the plate and centers the first pitch with the back leg left alone. Pair it with the elevation handle and any area of the strike zone is reachable between pitches. Turn the head and the same machine hits fungo.
