Softball Pitching Machines
The Hack Attack Softball Pitching Machine throws fastballs 43 feet at 80+ MPH, and the same dials give you risers, drops, right- and left-handed curves, screwballs up and into right- and left-handed hitters, and knuckleball changeups. Three variable speed motors drive three concave 13 in throwing wheels, so the plane of a breaking pitch changes at the dial.
The three-wheel layout keeps the ball in view through the feeding motion, the acceleration and the release. Sports Attack builds this machine for college and serious high school athletes. At 152 lbs with legs it sits heavy enough to absorb recoil, and one person still tilts it, un-sockets the legs and rolls it off the field.
How It Throws
Every pitch on the Hack Attack Softball Pitching Machine is set with wheel speed dials and an elevation handle. The throwing head stays where you put it.
On The Field
Weight where it holds the machine still, wheels where they carry it, and guards that keep the throwing wheels off the dirt.
Closer Look
Fastballs leave the machine at 43 feet and 80+ MPH. Turning the dials changes the plane of the break, so the same setup covers risers, drops and screwballs at right- and left-handed hitters without moving the throwing head.
The head turns in any direction for fungo. Sports Attack lists deep fly balls that can drive fielders to the fence, slicing line drives, catcher's pop-ups with reverse spin, towering infield pop-ups and grounders. Recovery between throws is almost instant.
Moving the machine is a one-person job. Tilt it back, pull the legs out of their sockets and roll it on the two heavy-duty transporting wheels. Front wheel guards hold the throwing wheels clear of dirt and gravel. Folded down it measures 41 × 30 × 43 in.
Compare
Three softball machines share the three-wheel throwing head. They differ in size, control and who is standing in the box.
