STEPR Stair Climber

The STEPR Stair Climber is a home stair climber with a floating stadium step that rises 5.2 inches, so one machine covers a slow warm climb and a hard sustained push. Step rate runs from 22 to 140 steps a minute. The tread is 15.7 inches wide and 8.6 inches deep, and the machine takes users from 66 lb up to 375 lbs and from 4 ft 11 in to 7 ft 2 in tall. It comes as the Classic with an LED console, standing 78 inches tall, or the Plus with a touchscreen mast, standing 82 inches tall.

Two consoles sit on the same frame. STEPR names them STEPR CLASSIC | LED CONSOLE and STEPR+ | CONNECTED 27" HD TOUCHSCREEN, and they are sold as the Classic and Plus variants. The console also sets the overall height: 78 inches with the LED display, 82 inches with the touchscreen mast, which is the figure to measure against an 8 ft ceiling.

How it works

The Classic and the Plus share the 5.2 inch step, the 22 to 140 step range and the steel frame. They differ in the display on the mast, the connectivity behind it and four inches of overall height.

An oversized LED console that starts a session the moment you step on. Free Step runs open ended, targets can be set for time, floors, steps or calories, and there is a set of pre-programmed sessions to pick from.

The Step Sets The Whole Machine

Everything else on this climber follows the 5.2 inch stadium step. The tread is 15.7 inches across and 8.6 inches deep, which is enough for a large foot to sit flat on it, and the step floats on the frame so the climb stays even at the bottom of the stroke. At 22 steps a minute the climb is slow and deliberate, and 140 is the top of the range.

Height Depends On Which Console

The LED version stands 78 inches tall and the touchscreen version 82 inches, both on a 50 inch length. Measure the room before the console choice is made, because a low basement ceiling can decide it for you. The machine fits through a standard doorway on the way in, runs under an 8 ft ceiling once it is up, and moves on transport handles and built-in castor wheels when the room needs the floor back.

Anchor Points For Band Work

STEPR builds strength and resistance anchor points into the frame so resistance bands can be clipped on for strength sets between climbs. It keeps one machine in the corner doing two jobs, and it costs no extra floor. On the console side, the Classic runs Free Step and pre-programmed sessions with targets for time, floors, steps or calories, and the Plus adds coach-led classes and streaming apps on the 27 inch screen.

An 8 ft ceiling works. The machine itself is 78 inches tall with the LED console and 82 inches with the touchscreen mast, and you climb 5.2 inches above the deck at the top of the stroke, so add your own standing height to that when you are measuring a basement or a loft room.
Yes. The STEPR is built to pass through a standard doorway, and its 50 inch length keeps the turn into a room manageable. Transport handles and built-in castor wheels are there for moving it once it is assembled.
A standard 110V outlet runs it. Plan on a normal wall socket within reach of where the machine will stand, and nothing heavier than that.
No. The on-demand classes, scenic sessions and entertainment features on the STEPR+ touchscreen are included with the machine, with no membership or subscription required. Third-party apps such as Netflix, Hulu and Prime Video need your own account with those services.
Maximum user weight is 375 lbs and minimum user weight is 66 lb. The user height range runs from 4 ft 11 in to 7 ft 2 in, and the floating stadium step at 15.7 by 8.6 inches takes almost any foot size.
The STEPR is a home machine, and its warranty covers use in a home environment and is void if it is used outside one. For a gym floor, a studio, a hotel or a shared building facility, the STEPR PRO carries a light commercial warranty tier and the STEPR XL is rated for full commercial use.
In home use the STEPR carries 10 years on the frame, 2 years on parts and 1 year on labor. STEPR CARE+ plans are available to extend that cover. The home-use condition above applies to the warranty as a whole.
