STEPR PRO Stair Climber

The STEPR PRO Stair Climber is a stair climber for home and light commercial floors, and the step is the reason to move up to it. Each full floating step rises 7 inches on a tread 18 inches wide and 11 inches deep, against 5.2 inches on a 15.7 by 8.6 inch tread on the original STEPR. Step rate reaches 190 steps a minute, fifty more than the base machine, so the top of an interval session lands a good deal higher. The footprint is 53 inches long by 32.6 inches wide, and the machine stands 85.8 or 89 inches tall depending on the console.

Underneath that, the PRO is a heavier build: a welded steel frame with moulded casing, multiple emergency stops and laser safety sensors, rated for home and light commercial use. The console choice follows the same pattern as the rest of the range. STEPR PRO CLASSIC | LED CONSOLE takes the machine to 85.8 inches tall and STEPR PRO+ | CONNECTED 27" HD TOUCHSCREEN takes it to 89 inches, and they are sold as Classic and Plus.

THE UPGRADE

How it works

A taller step is a longer stroke, and a wider tread is more of your foot on the machine at the top of it. The PRO pairs both with a faster ceiling on step rate and a frame rated for a busier floor.

Seven Inches Against Five Point Two

The PRO climbs 7 inches a step where the original STEPR climbs 5.2, and the tread grows with it from 15.7 by 8.6 inches to 18 by 11. That is 198 square inches of surface under each foot, against 135 square inches on the base machine. Both numbers are per step, on every step of the belt.

Where The Extra Speed Shows

The range starts at 22 steps a minute, slow enough to walk a long steady climb, and runs to 190. That top end is what STEPR built the PRO for: advanced HIIT training, where the interval is short and the step rate has to be somewhere the base machine cannot reach. The oversized LED console on the Classic starts as soon as you do, and the Plus puts a fully connected 27 inch touchscreen at eye level.

The PRO is covered on two tiers, and which one you are on depends on where the machine lives. A home buyer gets 10 years on the frame, 5 years on parts and 3 years on labor. A light commercial site, which is what the PRO is rated for beyond the home, gets 10 years on the frame, 3 years on parts and 2 years on labor. STEPR CARE+ plans can be added to either.
