STEPR XL Stair Climber

The STEPR XL Stair Climber is a commercial stair climber built for the biggest climb in the range: a floating step 9 inches tall on a tread 22 inches wide and 13 inches deep. The step rises two inches above the STEPR PRO and nearly four above the original STEPR, on the largest step surface the range offers. Step rate covers 22 to 190 steps a minute, the same working range as the PRO. A ceiling of 9 to 10 ft gives it room, and the console comes as an LED display or a 27 inch touchscreen.

Both versions carry the same safety set: multiple emergency stops, laser safety sensors and automatic user weight detection, with strength and resistance anchor points on the frame and a built-in wireless phone charger. The console is the only choice to make. STEPR XL CLASSIC | LED CONSOLE keeps an LED display for get-on-and-go sessions, STEPR XL+ | CONNECTED 27" HD TOUCHSCREEN puts a 27 inch screen on the mast, and the two are sold as Classic and Plus.

How it works

A machine on a gym floor gets used by people it has never met, at every size and every level of confidence. The XL answers that with the tallest step in the range, the widest tread, and safety hardware that reads the user before the session starts.

Each floating step rises 9 inches with a surface 22 inches wide and 13 inches deep. It is the tallest and the widest step STEPR builds, and the extra depth is what lets a full range of foot sizes land square on the tread.

Nine Inches Under Every Foot

The XL climbs 9 inches a step, and the stroke is longer than anything else in the range, and the 22 by 13 inch surface gives the foot somewhere to sit at the top of it. Step rate still runs from 22 a minute for a steady climb up to 190 for the kind of interval work STEPR builds the XL and the PRO to take.

Plan The Ceiling Before The Floor

A 9 inch step lifts the user higher than the rest of the range does, so the room matters more here than the floor plan. Plan on 9 to 10 ft of ceiling as a minimum. Total clearance works out at 7 ft 9 in for a user of 5 ft, rising to 9 ft 4 in for a user of 6 ft 7 in, so the tallest person who will use the machine is the one who decides whether a room works.

What The XL Console Handles

On the Plus version the fully connected 27 inch touchscreen carries the training sessions, swivels and pivots through 360 deg and charges a phone from its USB-C port. The Classic keeps an LED console for members who want to press start and climb. Neither one asks for a membership or a subscription to work, and both have the wireless charging pad built in.
