Zero Gravity Sound Therapy Chair

Therabody Lounger

Sound and vibration for full-body relaxation. The Lounger is a zero-gravity recliner with audio hardware built into the frame. Speakers called SoundHearts are positioned through the chair so the audio reaches your whole body at once, and Therabody's name for the combined system is TheraSound Technology. The idea is that you feel the audio as much as you hear it.

It is the only piece of furniture Therabody makes. In the upright position the chair measures 45 in x 30 in x 49 in; reclined into zero gravity it stretches to 67 in x 30 in x 28 in, with the knees and feet sitting slightly above the heart. Seating positions adjust across that range from an easy-to-access control panel on the chair.

The system

Immersive mind and body relaxation.

Four parts make up the Lounger: the recline geometry, the audio hardware, the content it plays and what else you can plug into it.

🔊
TheraSound Technology
Therabody's description is specific: TheraSound Technology combines SoundHeart hardware with proprietary audio content so that audio can be felt as the vibrations move through the body. The SoundHearts are positioned through the chair for simultaneous full-body treatment, so the sensation arrives everywhere at once.

Sit back and relax with zero gravity.
Seating positions are fully adjustable, and one of them is the zero-gravity recline. In that position the knees and feet sit slightly above the heart and the chair carries your weight along its length. Reclined, the Lounger measures 67 in x 30 in x 28 in.

The power of vibroacoustic sound therapy
Vibroacoustic is the term for audio delivered as physical vibration. Therabody describes the Lounger as sending full-body sound vibrations that enter the body at varying frequencies. No frequency range in Hz is published for the chair, so we name the principle and leave the numbers out.
Audio you feel
🎮
Sound agnostic capabilities
Its sound agnostic input accepts music and video streaming services and gaming platforms through the Audio In cable, so a film soundtrack or a game runs through the same SoundHearts as a sound therapy track.

A closer look

You've never experienced sound like this.

Therabody Lounger shown in the reclined zero gravity position
Zero gravity

Reclined to 67 inches

The zero-gravity position is the one the chair is built around. Reclined, the footprint changes from 45 x 30 x 49 inches upright to 67 x 30 x 28 inches, with your knees and feet settling slightly above the heart and your weight spread along the whole frame. Worth measuring your room before you order: reclined, this chair is nearly six feet long.

  • Standard upright position: 45 in x 30 in x 49 in
  • Fully adjustable between the two

Controls

One panel, within reach of the armrest

Position and audio are handled from an easy-to-access control panel on the chair, so you can change either without sitting up. The attached AMP drives the SoundHearts, and the Audio In cable brings in whatever you want to play. Therabody also publishes a Sound Therapy Playlist of its own audio content for the chair.

The chair

Built as furniture first

Seen from the side, the Lounger reads as a recliner: a continuous curved frame, an upholstered seat and a headrest pillow with a removable sleeve. The audio hardware is inside the shell, and the whole TheraSound system arrives assembled. It runs from a mains power adapter, so it needs an outlet within reach of wherever you place it.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

A zero-gravity recliner with audio hardware built into it. Therabody calls the system TheraSound Technology: SoundHeart hardware positioned through the chair plus proprietary audio content, so the sound is felt as vibration through the body as well as heard.
Therabody's own benefits list reads: decreased stress and increased relaxation, increased circulation, decreased pain, increased mobility and range of motion, decreased muscle tension. Those are the manufacturer's claims and we present them as such. No study, subject count or duration is published alongside them, so we are not repeating them as established outcomes.
Two published footprints. Upright, 45 in x 30 in x 49 in. In the zero gravity position, 67 in x 30 in x 28 in. Measure the reclined length before you decide where it goes.
It changes the geometry of how you sit. The chair reclines until your knees and feet sit slightly above the heart and your weight is spread along the frame. Therabody attaches further claims to that position; we describe the position itself, which is the part that is verifiable.
Audio delivered as physical vibration through the body. Therabody describes the Lounger as sending full-body sound vibrations that enter the body at varying frequencies. No frequency range in Hz is published for this chair, so we quote no figure.
Yes. The Lounger has sound agnostic capabilities and integrates with music and video streaming services and gaming platforms. The Audio In cable is included for that connection.
Therabody's own collection of audio content produced for the Lounger. It sits alongside anything else you choose to play through the chair.
The Therabody Lounger, a headrest pillow and sleeve, an Audio In cable, the attached AMP, a power adapter, and the TheraSound Technology assembled into the chair.
The TheraSound Technology comes assembled as part of the chair. The product documentation lists no separate assembly steps for the audio system.
From a power adapter. That is the stated power source, so the chair needs to sit within reach of an outlet.
Spread out. They are described as strategically positioned throughout the lounger for simultaneous full-body treatment, which is why the vibration is felt along the body at the same time.
A weight is not published for the Lounger, and neither is a user weight capacity or an upholstery material. Therabody no longer lists this product, so there is no current manufacturer page to check those against. Ask us before ordering if any of them matter for your space.
The connection documented for the Lounger is the wired Audio In cable. No Bluetooth pairing or Therabody app integration is listed for this product, so we do not claim one.
A 2-year warranty.
Therabody no longer lists the Lounger on its own site, so treat it as a discontinued line. Everything on this page comes from the product's original documentation. Stock is limited to what we hold – check availability with us before planning a room around it.
