Full-Face Light Therapy

Therabody TheraFace Mask

The TheraFace Mask is a rigid LED shell that sits over the whole face. 648 LEDs cover it, running at three wavelengths: 415 nm blue, 633 nm red, and 830 nm red-plus-infrared. Sessions run between 3 and 9 minutes, and the pre-programmed routine is the 9-minute one.

Seventeen QX-Micro Motors are built into the shell for vibration at the browline, eye area and scalp. Removable protective eye shields in medical-grade silicone come in the box. The device weighs 576 g, holds roughly 120 minutes of LED mode on a charge, and Therabody lists it as FDA Cleared with a 1-year limited warranty.

Features

Three Wavelengths and Seventeen Motors

Therabody publishes a wavelength in nanometres for each light setting on this mask, which is more than it does for most of the TheraFace range. Those figures are below, alongside the stated purpose Therabody gives each one.

🔴
Red Light Therapy
The 633 nm setting. Therabody’s stated purpose for it is the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots. It is the setting behind the mask’s shortest routines.
633 nm
🌡️
Red Light + Infrared Therapy
The 830 nm setting, the longest wavelength on the mask. Therabody positions it around the skin’s own collagen production and firmness.
830 nm
🔵
Blue Light Therapy
The 415 nm setting, the shortest wavelength here. Therabody names acne-causing bacteria as what this setting is aimed at.
415 nm
〰️
Vibration Therapy
17 QX-Micro Motors are set into the shell at the face and scalp contact points, under the name VibraWave. Vibration runs about 60 minutes on a charge. Therabody publishes no frequency for it.

Get that TheraFace glow.

The shell does the work of holding the light at a fixed distance from the skin, which is the practical difference between a mask and a handheld device.

Three Wavelengths, One Session

Each setting is a single wavelength stated in nanometres, so you can check it against whatever else you are comparing. Sessions are short by design: the range is 3 to 9 minutes, and Therabody’s own study used the 9-minute pre-programmed routine once a day.

Specifications, Without the Padding

A rigid mask lives or dies on its weight and its fit, so both figures are worth knowing before you buy. The shell is a polycarbonate blend with TPU where it meets the skin, and the eye shields are silicone.

  • Dimensions: L=200mm, H=230mm, W=180mm
  • Weight: device only 576g, with stand 636g
  • Battery Life: approximately 120 minutes in LED Light Mode, 60 minutes in Vibration Mode
  • Materials: mask (PC+ABS) & (PC) + TPU; vibration motor steel & aluminum; protective eye shields medical-grade silicone
  • Warranty: 1-year limited warranty

Hands Free for the Whole Session

The mask straps on and holds itself, and the eye shields pop out when you want them out. Nine minutes is short enough that most people run it while doing something else. When the session ends, the display stand takes it off your counter and keeps the inner surface off the worktop.

  • Removable Protective Eye Shields for the eye area
  • Display Stand for storage between sessions
  • USB-A+C to USB-C adapter for charging
  • Vibration and light can each be run on their own

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

A rigid LED mask worn over the face. It carries 648 LEDs at three wavelengths — 415 nm, 633 nm and 830 nm — and 17 QX-Micro Motors for vibration at the browline, eye area and scalp.
The TheraFace Mask device, the Removable Protective Eye Shields, the Display Stand, and a USB-A+C to USB-C adapter for charging.
Blue is 415 nm, red is 633 nm, and red plus infrared is 830 nm. Therabody publishes those three figures for this mask. It does not publish an irradiance value, so no mW/cm² number appears anywhere on this page.
Between 3 and 9 minutes. The pre-programmed treatment is the 9-minute one, and that is the routine Therabody used in its own study.
Therabody uses that phrasing in its marketing. What sits behind it is a manufacturer-run 12-week study with 31 subjects, using the 9-minute pre-programmed treatment once a day, in which Therabody reports that 83% of participants saw improvements in facial contour. That is Therabody’s own study with a small sample, and we present it as exactly that: a manufacturer-run trial, on a small group.
648. LED count tells you about coverage across the face, and nothing on its own about intensity — intensity would need an irradiance figure, which Therabody does not publish for this mask. Therabody also runs a count comparison against other brands; that comparison is theirs, not ours, and it is not repeated here.
17 QX-Micro Motors built into the shell, marketed by Therabody as VibraWave. They sit at contact points on the face and scalp. Vibration runs about 60 minutes on a charge against 120 minutes for LED mode, so it draws more power than the lights.
576 g for the device on its own, and 636 g with the display stand. Dimensions are L=200mm, H=230mm, W=180mm.
Approximately 120 minutes for LED Light Mode and 60 minutes for Vibration Mode. Therabody does not publish a charge time, so none is quoted here.
The mask body is a polycarbonate and ABS blend with polycarbonate and TPU sections. The vibration motors are steel and aluminum. The protective eye shields are medical-grade silicone.
Yes, they are removable. Therabody includes them for the eye area during light sessions but does not cite a named eye-safety standard or rating for them, so this page does not claim one.
Therabody’s page states FDA Cleared for this mask. Other products in the wider Therabody range carry different regulatory wording, so it is worth checking each product on its own.
Therabody lists LED Light Mode and Vibration Mode with separate battery figures, so each can be run on its own. Therabody publishes no restriction against running them together on this product.
Over USB-C, using the USB-A+C to USB-C adapter supplied in the box.
A 1-year limited warranty from Therabody.
This one has the higher LED count at 648 and a 17-motor vibration system reaching the face as well as the scalp. The Mask Glo is the lighter cordless build at 514 g with 504 LEDs and its vibration motor in the straps. Both cover the full face; the choice is between more hardware and less weight.
