The Mini Plus is the only travel-size Theragun that carries heat, and that heat is the reason to choose it over the smaller Theragun Mini. The Heated Percussive Plus Attachment holds 45, 50 and 55 degrees Celsius, which is 113, 122 and 131 Fahrenheit, and it keeps that temperature while the motor is striking. Either therapy can run on its own. A warm head with the motor off is useful on a cold morning before a run, and the motor at full speed with no heat is the same device doing an ordinary job. The controls for the two sit separately, so neither one traps the other.

The heated head

Heat in the head that ships with it

One attachment comes with this device and it is the interesting one. The Heated Percussive Plus Attachment has a heating element inside the head that is doing the striking, so warmth lands on the muscle at the same point and the same moment as the percussion. Three temperatures are available, topping out at 55 degrees Celsius or 131 Fahrenheit, and the head holds its setting for as long as the motor is running. Heat and speed are chosen on separate controls, so full heat at the slowest speed and no heat at all at the fastest are each a press away. It is the full-size heated head in a travel-size body.

What's Included

One head in the box and what to add

The box holds the Mini Plus itself, the Heated Percussive Plus Attachment and a USB-C charging cable, all of it in a travel pouch. One head is a deliberate trade, because the head you get is the expensive one. Everything else in the Plus range is sold separately and fits the same mount. The Cold Plus Attachment holds 5, 10 and 15 degrees Celsius at the other end of the scale. Four of the five Plus percussive heads fit too, with the Micro-point Plus the single exception.

Frequently asked questions

Four items. The Theragun Mini Plus, the Heated Percussive Plus Attachment, a USB-C charging cable and a travel pouch. That is one attachment head, and it is the heated one. Additional heads are bought separately.

The Plus range. The Cold Plus Attachment and the Vibration Plus Attachment both fit and are each sold on their own. Four of the five Plus percussive heads fit as well: the Standard Ball Plus, Dampener Plus, Thumb Plus and Wedge Plus. The Micro-point Plus Attachment is the one that does not.

A rechargeable battery charged over the USB-C cable in the box. Runtime is 120 minutes and it varies with the attachment fitted, so running the heat will shorten it against running the motor alone. The battery is not removable.

The foam on the attachment head, as on every Theragun. 60 to 90 days is the replacement window, depending on how often it is used. Wipe the head down once it has cooled and give the body a clean at the same time. Keep the USB-C port clear, and let the head cool completely before the device goes back in the pouch.

The Mini Plus is TSA Approved and carries a travel lock so it cannot start up in a bag. Airline and airport rules are set by the carrier and the country, so a device being TSA Approved is not a guarantee that a particular security officer will wave it through. In practice it is the Theragun designed to be packed, and the lock is worth engaging every time.

At 10mm this is the soft end of the range, and the Theragun Prime at 16mm is the tool for heavy training loads. A smaller and lighter device with no heat at all is the Theragun Mini. Heat on a full-size body with more heads in the box is the Theragun Prime Plus.
