Vibration Therapy Device

Theragun Wave Solo

The Wave Solo is a single vibrating ball, 3.4 inches across and 0.7 lbs on the scale. One ball, one contact point. Low surface area pinpoints pressure for focused treatment, so it works the arch of a foot, a spot under a shoulder blade or one point along a hamstring โ€“ places a 12-inch cylinder rides straight over.

The outer is hypoallergenic textured silicone with the Wave pattern moulded across it, which grips the floor or a wall while you lean into it. Vibration is adjustable, QuietRoll Technology damps the reverberation through the shell, and Bluetooth pairs the ball to the Therabody app for device control and the Wave Series routines. It is the smallest thing in the Wave range and the easiest to pack.

How it works

Wave Solo Features

A ball this size makes four things matter: the contact patch, the vibration control, the noise, and whether your phone can drive it.

๐ŸŽฏ
Low surface area pinpoints pressure for focused treatment
A 3.4-inch ball puts your body weight through a contact patch the size of a golf ball. That concentration is the reason it reaches under a shoulder blade, into an arch or along the side of a hamstring where a full-length roller spans across the area.

ใ€ฐ๏ธ
Customizable vibration frequencies
The live RFA product copy lists 3 customizable vibration frequencies. Therabody's current comparison chart says only "more than 3 vibration intensity settings" and gives no exact count, so we publish the live listing's number and name the source. Neither states a vibration frequency in Hz.
3 settings per live copy

QuietRoll Technology mutes reverberation
A hard ball on a hard floor rings. The hypoallergenic silicone outer is specified as noise dampening, and Therabody names the sound control QuietRoll Technology. It is the feature that makes this usable in a shared room or a hotel.

Smart device with Bluetooth connectivity
Bluetooth pairing gives you device control from the Therabody app plus the Wave Series routines. Useful when the ball is pinned under your back and the button is nowhere near your hand.

A closer look

Wave Solo Specifications and detail

Surface

The wave texture, close up

The grooves are the working part of the surface. They stop the ball skating on a wooden floor or a painted wall, and they vary the contact as you move over it: the ridges concentrate, the valleys spread. On a device this small, traction decides whether you can hold a position long enough for the vibration to matter.

Specifications

Dimensions, weight and what charges it

Every number here is small. A 3.4-inch ball at 0.7 lbs fits a jacket pocket, a carry-on or the side pouch of a training bag, and it charges from the USB-A to USB-C cable in the box โ€“ the same cable that already charges most of what you own. Therabody does not publish a charge time for the Wave Solo, so we do not quote one.

App

Bluetooth control and the Wave Series routines

Pair the ball to the Therabody app and the intensity control moves to your phone. The app also carries the Wave Series routines, which give you a sequence to follow when you are working a spot you cannot see. The buttons on the device stay live throughout, so the phone is an addition and never a dependency.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

A single vibrating ball, 3.4 inches in diameter, with a textured silicone outer and Bluetooth app control. It is the pinpoint tool in Therabody's Wave range, sized for one spot at a time.
The live RFA product copy states 3 customizable vibration frequencies. Therabody's own comparison chart currently says "More than 3 vibration intensity settings" and gives no exact figure. We publish the live listing's number and flag the difference so you can judge it. No source gives a speed in Hz, so we do not state one.
Our two sources disagree, so read both. The live RFA listing states a 120-minute battery life. The therabody.com spec sheet for the WaveSolo states 200 minutes. We are not picking one figure over the other โ€“ if run time is the deciding factor for you, check with us before ordering. Neither source publishes a charge time.
The Wave Solo, a protective carrying pouch, and a USB-A to USB-C cable. Both our sources agree on this list.
3.4 in (8.6 cm) diameter and 0.7 lbs (.3 kg). Roughly the size of a large orange and lighter than a full water bottle.
Therabody's name for the sound control on this device. The live copy says it mutes reverberation, and the spec sheet describes the silicone outer as noise dampening. No decibel figure is published, so we cannot give you a number.
A textured silicone outer, described by Therabody as hypoallergenic. The Wave pattern is moulded into that surface.
Feet are one of the areas the live copy names, along with hamstrings and the upper body. The ball diameter suits an arch, and the wave grooves keep it from sliding out from under you on a hard floor.
Coverage. The Wave Roller is a 12-inch cylinder that works a whole hamstring in one pass. The Wave Solo concentrates the same idea into one 3.4-inch contact point for a specific spot. Plenty of people own both.
No. The device controls work on their own. The Therabody app adds Bluetooth control and the Wave Series guided routines.
No. The Wave Solo is a vibration device. Therabody lists no heat feature and no temperature setting for it.
Therabody labels the WaveSolo HSA/FSA Accepted. Your plan administrator decides any individual claim.
Therabody lists it as FDA Registered. That is a distinct designation from FDA Cleared, and we quote it exactly as published.
The device carries a 1 Year Limited Warranty from Therabody. Recovery For Athletes adds a Lowest Price Guarantee and Free Shipping on this order.
