Chattanooga OptiFlex

Chattanooga OptiFlex Ankle CPM

The Chattanooga OptiFlex Ankle CPM is a two-motor continuous passive motion unit for the foot and ankle: a powered footplate that moves the joint for the patient, through limits the clinician programs. It covers the full ankle range of motion. Lifting the toes, the footplate reaches 40 deg above neutral, and pointing them it reaches 60 deg below. A second motor tilts the sole inward to 40 deg and outward to 20 deg. Lying in bed or sitting up in a chair, the patient is treated from the same adjustable base, and a two-year limited warranty covers the machine.

The whole unit weighs 24.25 lb (11 kg).

Travel

How it works

A single footplate takes the foot, with a motor for each plane of ankle travel beneath it and one hand control to program them.

Both Ankle Planes on Separate Motors
Dorsal and plantar travel is the job of motor A, while inversion and eversion belong to motor B. The patient stays strapped to one footplate as both planes are worked, and each plane's limits are programmed before the strapping goes on.
Two motors
What the Hand Control Keeps
Speed comes in two settings, with a timer function and each motor's travel limits beside them on the hand control. Those parameters are written to a memory chip card for the patient's next visit.
