iRESTORE Illumina Eye Mask - 180 LED Red Light Eye Mask

The iRESTORE Illumina Eye Mask is an LED eye mask carrying 180 LEDs at two wavelengths, 633 nm in the red and 830 nm in the infrared, and running at 32 mW/cm2. It is the smallest of the four iRESTORE light masks and it holds the shortest session in the range: 5 minutes, taken daily.

Three modes decide which part of the eye area is lit. Mode 1 runs the full eye area from the browline down to under the eyes. Mode 2 takes the side and the under-eye area only, and Mode 3 takes the browline and the upper eye area only, so one band can run at a time instead of the whole mask every session.

The mask carries inner shields, and iRESTORE asks you to close your eyes during a session so the full lid is exposed to the light. One set of straps holds the mask on, and the mask charges over the USB-C cable that comes with it.

The Illumina Eye Mask carries a 1 year iRESTORE warranty, and the return window on the Illumina masks is 100 days. The box holds the mask, one set of straps, a USB-C charging cable, a microfiber cloth and a storage pouch.

Everything on this mask is scaled to the eye area: 180 LEDs where the face mask has 360, 32 mW/cm2 where the face mask reaches 60, and a 5 minute session where every other iRESTORE mask runs 10.

One Hundred and Eighty LEDs Around the Eyes

The Illumina Eye Mask carries 180 LEDs, which is the smallest count in the iRESTORE mask range and the one spread over the smallest area. They emit at 633 nm in the red and 830 nm in the infrared, and the mask runs at 32 mW/cm2. Nothing about the mask aims, so the mode is what decides which of the 180 are lit for a given session.

Mode Two Leaves the Browline Dark

Three modes cut the eye area into three bands. Mode 1 runs the full eye area at once. Mode 2 takes the side and the under-eye area only and leaves the browline alone. Mode 3 does the opposite and takes the browline and the upper eye area only. You pick one before a session and the 5 minutes runs the same whichever band you chose.

Six Hundred and Thirty-Three in the Red

Two wavelengths sit in this mask and neither of them is blue. The red is 633 nm, two nanometres below the 635 nm red in the Illumina Face Mask and the Illumina Neck & Chest Mask, and the infrared is 830 nm, the same figure the other Illumina masks carry. Output holds at 32 mW/cm2 across all three modes.

Inner Shields and One Set of Straps

The mask carries inner shields as part of its build. One set of straps ships with it and holds it on the head. Charging runs over the USB-C cable in the box, alongside a microfiber cloth and a storage pouch. Those five pieces are everything that arrives, and nothing else is needed to start the first 5 minutes.

The mask

A Shell That Covers the Eyes and Nothing Else

The Illumina Eye Mask covers the eye area and stops there, so it sits across the browline, the outer corners and the skin under the eyes without reaching the cheeks or the forehead. Inner shields are built into the mask itself. One set of straps holds it on, and because the whole piece is small it goes on and comes off in one movement. The 180 LEDs are spread over that area alone, so the count sits below the face mask's 360.

The modes

Three Bands and One of Them at a Time

Mode 1 runs the full eye area, so every LED in the mask is lit. Mode 2 takes the side and the under-eye area only. Mode 3 goes the other way and takes the browline and the upper eye area only. Splitting the area into bands is what the mode switch on this mask does, and picking a band changes which LEDs light and nothing about how long the mask runs.

One set of straps ships with the mask and sets how firmly it sits on the head. Charging runs over the USB-C cable that arrives in the same box, so the mask goes on a cable between sessions and comes off it to be worn. Set the straps, pick the mode and run the mask for 5 minutes. iRESTORE asks you to close your eyes while the mask is on, so that the full lid is exposed to the light, and the frequency is daily. The mask carries inner shields as part of its build.

iRESTORE covers the Illumina Eye Mask for 1 year from the date of purchase. Its return window on the Illumina masks is 100 days long, and the return authorisation is raised somewhere between day 70 and day 100.
