Jugs | Backyard Package
The Jugs Hit at Home Backyard Package is a backyard batting cage and pitching machine package built around a 45 ft x 11 ft x 11 ft cage that two people set up in under an hour, with no permanent construction. The PS50 Pitching Machine for Baseball and Softball, a Quick-Snap protective screen that snaps together without tools, and a dozen balls come with it. The 45 ft length leaves room to throw batting practice comfortably and suits short toss, soft toss and tee drills. The whole setup needs a patch of ground about 27 ft x 57 ft.
The package holds the Hit at Home Backyard Batting Cage at 45 ft x 11 ft x 11 ft, the PS50 Pitching Machine for Baseball and Softball, the Lite-Flite/Slowpitch Quick-Snap Protective Screen, and one dozen balls: Pearl baseballs or game-ball yellow dimpled Sting-Free softballs. Forty-five feet is the shortest cage of the four Jugs backyard packages, built for a yard that will not take sixty-five.
Taking the cage down means unhooking the turnbuckles to lower the whole thing to the ground. The netting is #27 twisted knotted black polyethylene hung on the square, on powder coated grey steel tubing with 1.5 in. uprights, and the Jugs Hitter's Door lets a hitter in and out without lifting the net.
Cage, netting and machine
Steel uprights, tensioned cables and a #27 net make the cage, and the PS50 feeds it from the far end.

Closer look
The package puts a machine, a cage and a screen together in one order. The ball line is the choice: one dozen Pearl baseballs for the baseball build, or one dozen game-ball yellow dimpled Sting-Free softballs for the softball build. The PS50 takes either, with a 9 in. chute for baseball and a 12 in. chute for softball.
The cage arrives with its full parts count and everything needed to set it up, apart from a 6 ft ladder for the top crossbars. Each ground stake goes through its cable loop and is pounded in at an angle, with the guy-wires running at 45 degrees from the uprights.
Two people set the cage up in less than one hour with no permanent construction. Taking it down is quicker still: in bad weather, loosen the three turnbuckles, unhook them from the guy-wires and lay the cage on the ground. The Jugs Hitter's Door gives access in and out without lifting the net.
Compare
The Hit at Home Backyard Package has the smallest footprint of the Jugs backyard packages: 45 ft of cage against 55 and 65, with a machine in the order and a two-person setup in under an hour.
