The sensor added at this rung is the K-Myo, supplied with its accessories. It is a surface electromyograph, and it reads the electrical activity of the muscle underneath it. The six sensors below it record how much force was produced and through what range. The K-Myo records which muscle was working while that happened, and when it fired. That is a different class of information, and it is the reason this rung exists.

Its buyer is the practitioner or performance team who has run out of answers a force number alone can give, and who wants activation timing recorded on the same profile as the force. This is also the first rung whose listing names the top of the software ladder: one year of Kinvent Physio on the EXCELLENCE tier. K-Myo, the sensor that changes the question

Kinvent classify the K-Myo as a portable surface electromyograph. It is worn on the body, reaches the skin through multi-coloured electrode cables, and captures the electrical activity of the muscle underneath while that muscle is working. Nothing is inserted. Every other sensor in this pack quantifies an external force or an angle, so this is the first one in the ladder that reports on the source of the movement rather than its result.

Kinvent describe the K-Myo as capturing real-time muscle activation data during movement, with real-time EMG feedback in the app. An athlete watching their own trace can be corrected inside the rep rather than after it, which is why Kinvent list motor re-education alongside assessment. The K-Force Plates arrive from the rung below and read vertical force under each foot at a capacity Kinvent put at roughly 600 kg per platform, returning center of pressure, weight distribution and a Limb Symmetry Index. Run a standing task with the K-Myo applied and the same effort produces a distribution figure and an activation trace at once. The four handheld sensors and the goniometer fill in the rest of the battery.
