Two Sensors, Two Muscles
K-Myo is a surface EMG sensor. It sits on the skin and reads the electrical activity of the muscle underneath, which the K-Force app displays as muscle activation. This listing is the Duo Pack, so two sensors ship together with two K-Myo Pack accessories.
Two sensors is the point of the pack. Two channels let you record two muscles in a single session, which is what makes a left-against-right reading or an agonist-against-antagonist reading possible without running the test twice. Both units are wireless and nothing breaks the skin. Physiotherapists, clinic teams, strength staff and researchers use them in a practice room, a gym or a lab.
The Signal
Electromyography reads the electrical signal a muscle produces as it contracts. Taken at the surface, it is a measurement you can add to a session in the time it takes to place a sensor.
Why The Pair
A single EMG sensor tells you about one muscle. Two sensors give a comparison, and comparison is what a practitioner reads.
Closer Look
Each sensor goes over the muscle you want to read, and both record together. That is what turns a single-muscle observation into a comparison: two muscle bellies on opposite limbs, or a pair working against each other across the same joint.
The trace appears while the effort is happening, which is why Kinvent describe K-Myo as a biofeedback device. Afterwards the recording stays under the profile in the K-Force app, next to whatever force, pressure or angle data the same person has from other sensors in the range.
Motion And EMG
K-Myo reads the electrical side of a movement. The other two read the mechanical side, one through joint angle and one through speed and power.
