Nine pairs, 5 kg to 25 kg in 2.5 kg steps. The ladder holds two each of 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, 20, 22.5 and 25 kg, eighteen dumbbells in total, or 11 lb to 55 lb in imperial. The rack supplied with the set has a row for each pair, so the whole ladder is stored on the one frame.

The dumbbells are CNC-milled from high-grade nickel-plated steel with an anodized black handle. The wood on them is the solid wood end plate at each end, inscribed with the weight and the NOHrD logo. The rack that holds them is the solid wood part of the purchase, and it is what carries the finish you choose. Anyone picturing a turned wooden dumbbell is picturing a different product.

320 kg, or 705 lb, for the eighteen dumbbells and the rack together, all of it standing on a footprint of 135 x 100 cm. If the room is above ground level, that is the figure to hand to whoever signs off the floor loading, because it lands in one place and not across a room. The rack itself is free-standing and transfers everything straight down.

135 x 100 x 50 cm, which is 53.1 in. wide, 39.4 in. tall and 19.7 in. deep. Add working room in front of it, because the angle on the frame is there so you lift a pair off the row toward you. The depth of 50 cm is the rack alone and does not include that reach.

The rack is offered in all six of the range woods, with Shadow at the entry and Walnut at the top of the price ladder. The same six run right across the NOHrD line, so a DumbBell rack can be matched to a WeightBench or a SquatRack in the same wood. The dumbbells themselves are unaffected: the wood on those is the end plate only, and the plate matches whichever rack you order.

No. The angled frame is free-standing and carries the eighteen dumbbells on its own, so there is no wall survey, no fastener schedule and no stud line to find. It does need a flat, level floor that will take 320 kg over 135 x 100 cm, and it needs clearance at the front for the lift-off angle.

Nine packages, and the set is assembled where it will stand. Plan the route in before the delivery date: a nine carton consignment with 320 kg of contents does not go up a tight stair as one piece, which is the advantage of it arriving in parts. Tell us if there is a lift, a threshold or a turn we should know about and we will flag it to the carrier.

Anodized black over nickel-plated steel, with 0.1 mm ribbing across the grip area. It is a shallow texture by design, enough to key into a palm on a heavy row without the aggressive knurl that shreds skin over a long session. The anodizing is there for surface hardness on the part of the dumbbell that gets handled every time.

Head diameter is held uniform across the weights sharing a row, which is a machining decision with two consequences. The rack reads as a straight line and not a staircase, and the roll-out distance from the row is the same whichever pair you take, so the reach does not change as you work up the ladder.

One year from the date of shipment, covering repair or replacement of a defective product or component. Registering the set within that first year takes it to two years on all components and two years on all wooden components, and spare parts carry ninety days. The term applies to private and commercial use alike. Normal wear, modification and skipped maintenance are outside it.

They answer the same brief with different hardware. The DumbBell Set is eighteen fixed dumbbells from 5 to 25 kg, ready to pick up, and nothing is loaded or unloaded. The WeightPlate Tower is 20 plates and three Gungnir barbells, two short Dumblers to 32 kg each and a 160 cm Pumper to 62 kg, so the load is built by hand each time and the ceiling is higher. A room with space for one usually has space for one only, and the DumbBell Set is the larger of the two at 135 x 100 cm against 45 x 45 cm.

The wooden surfaces are finished in NOHrD's hard wax oil, which is re-oiled on a schedule and never stripped back. The NOHrD Care Set holds 100 ml of wood care oil, 100 ml of lubricant, an abrasive fleece and three microfibre cloths, and NOHrD supplies it across the wooden range. Keeping up that maintenance also keeps the warranty intact, since skipped care is one of the things it excludes.
