NOHrD | WeightPlate Tower and Bars
The NOHrD WeightPlate Tower and Bars is a wooden barbell station: a 117 cm storage tower, twenty weight plates with real wood veneer centres, and three barbells from Gungnir of Norway carrying their SlideLock collar system. The plate set is four weights over twenty pieces, eight of 5 kg, four of 2.5 kg, four of 1.25 kg and four of 0.5 kg, which comes to 57 kg (126 lb) of plates in the box. Every plate takes the same 25 mm bore, so the whole ladder moves between all three bars without an adapter, and the tower is built to hold the twenty plates alongside up to thirteen loaded barbells. The three bars are two short Dumbler barbells, each loadable to 32 kg, and one 160 cm Pumper barbell loadable to 62 kg.
SlideLock decides how the whole set handles in use. Gungnir of Norway designed it as a slide collar that locks the plates on the sleeve in one movement, which removes the screw collar and the spring clip from a session of squats or deadlifts where the load changes between sets. Loading is the same action on a Dumbler as it is on the Pumper, so a buyer working alone is not fighting two different fastenings across three bars.
The tower measures 45 x 45 x 117 cm and weighs 88 kg (194 lb), and it is built from real wood veneer over panel with powder-coated steel and brushed stainless steel. It takes the individual plates on the front and the fully loaded bars on the frame, and the long Pumper is parked upright at the back where it is out of the walkway. Six finishes run across the range and the finish lands on the tower and the plate centres together. The set arrives as twelve packages for assembly on site, and NOHrD backs it for one year from shipment, taken to two years on components and two years on wooden components by registering inside the first year.
The set
Twenty plates and three bars ship together as one station, with the collar system doing the work that a screw sleeve usually does. Four plate weights give 57 kg to spread across a 62 kg Pumper and two 32 kg Dumblers, and the tower is cut to hold all of it loaded or apart.
01
SlideLock is Gungnir of Norway's patented collar, and it is what NOHrD fits across all three bars in this set. The plate slides onto the sleeve and the collar locks it in place with one slide action, so there is no screw thread to spin down and no spring clip to squeeze with a loaded hand. On a working set where the plates change every few minutes, a one-movement lock keeps you upright at the end of the bar instead of kneeling over it. The same system is on both Dumblers and on the Pumper, so nothing about the loading changes when you move between bars.

02
The plate set is eight of 5 kg, four of 2.5 kg, four of 1.25 kg and four of 0.5 kg, twenty pieces and 57 kg in total. In imperial the steps are 1 lb, 3 lb, 6 lb and 11 lb, which gives a smallest usable jump of 0.5 kg a side, or 1 kg on a bar loaded evenly. Every one of them takes the same 25 mm bore, so no weight in the ladder is tied to one bar, and the tower carries all twenty on the front while up to thirteen loaded barbells sit on the frame. Heavier 10 kg plates exist as a separate extension that mounts at the rear of the tower and holds up to four of them.
57 kg supplied
03
Three Gungnir bars come with the set and they split the work between them. The two short Dumbler barbells each take up to 32 kg, which covers pressing, rowing and single arm work where a full length bar has nowhere to go. The Pumper is the long bar at 160 cm and takes up to 62 kg, enough for loaded squats, deadlifts and bench work inside a domestic room. All three are Gungnir of Norway bars with the 25 mm sleeve that the plate bore is cut for, so plates move between them without an adapter.
Up to 62 kg
04
The plates carry a real wood veneer centre, which is a cosmetic decision with an acoustic result. Wood sits between the metal of the plate and the metal of the next plate along the sleeve, so loading and unloading lands as a dull knock and not the ring of steel on steel. Veneer is a facing over the plate body and the mass underneath it is metal. The 0.5 kg to 5 kg figures measure that metal. The same veneer language applies to the tower itself, which is real wood veneer on panel and not solid timber.
25 mm bore
Ownership
Both Dumblers take 32 kg each and the Pumper takes 62 kg, and the 57 kg of plates in the box is what you have to spread across them. The tower stands on 45 x 45 cm of floor, holds the bars loaded or stripped on a single 25 mm bore, takes 10 kg extension plates when the 57 kg in the box stops being enough, and arrives across twelve packages.
01
The 0.5 kg pair is the smallest jump, which is 1 kg on a bar loaded evenly.
02
The 160 cm long bar takes up to 62 kg loaded. Each short Dumbler takes up to 32 kg.
03
Every plate is bored 25 mm, so the whole set moves between the Pumper and both Dumblers.
04
The tower stands 117 cm tall on a 45 x 45 cm footprint and weighs 88 kg (194 lb) empty.
05
The frame parks fully loaded bars as well as loose plates, with the Pumper upright at the back.
06
A rear-mounted extension takes up to four 10 kg (22 lb) plates and is bought separately.
07
The station ships in twelve cartons and is assembled in the room where it will live.
08
One year from shipment, taken to two years on components and wooden components by registering inside the first year.
In detail
The bars
NOHrD buys the bars in from Gungnir of Norway, and there are three of them: two short Dumbler barbells and one 160 cm Pumper. A Dumbler is loaded to a maximum of 32 kg and is the bar for pressing, rowing and anything where a long sleeve would foul a wall or a bench upright. The Pumper is loaded to a maximum of 62 kg and is the bar for squats, deadlifts and bench work, at a length that still fits a room without a lifting platform. All three sleeves are 25 mm and all three carry SlideLock, so a plate taken off a Dumbler goes straight onto the Pumper with no adapter and no second set of collars to keep track of.
The plates
Twenty plates come in the box across four weights, 57 kg of steel in total. Loaded in pairs that gives increments of 1 kg, 2.5 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg on the bar, and the 0.5 kg pair is the one that makes a slow progression possible on a press. Every plate is bored to 25 mm, so the set is interchangeable across all three bars, and the tower is built to store all twenty of them alongside up to thirteen loaded barbells. Each plate carries a real wood veneer centre, which puts a wood face between two steel plates when they meet on the sleeve. Heavier 10 kg plates are sold as an extension that mounts at the rear of the tower and takes four of them.
The tower
The tower is 45 x 45 cm on the floor and 117 cm tall, and it weighs 88 kg (194 lb) before a single plate goes on it. Construction is real wood veneer over panel, powder-coated steel and brushed stainless steel, so it reads as a cabinet in a room and not a rack in a gym. It holds the loose plates on the front and takes fully loaded bars on the frame, so a Dumbler made up to 32 kg can be put back without stripping it. The long Pumper stands upright at the back, which keeps 160 cm of bar out of the walking line. Six finishes are offered, from Shadow at the entry through Oak, Vintage, Club and Cherry up to Walnut.
The range
Put the tower beside the other five strength pieces NOHrD builds in wood and the split is clear enough. The tower is the barbell answer here, the DumbBell Set is the fixed weight answer, the SquatRack and the WeightBench hold a bar and a body, and the TriaTrainer and Swing Bells work without any bar at all.

Questions
The tower, twenty weight plates and three Gungnir of Norway barbells: two short Dumblers and one 160 cm Pumper. The plates are eight of 5 kg, four of 2.5 kg, four of 1.25 kg and four of 0.5 kg, which is 57 kg (126 lb) of plate weight. All three bars carry the SlideLock collar system.
Each short Dumbler loads to 32 kg and the 160 cm Pumper loads to 62 kg. The 57 kg of plates supplied with the set is spread across those three bars, so you cannot have both Dumblers and the Pumper at their ceilings at the same time from the plates in the box. The 10 kg extension plates are the route to more, and they mount at the rear of the tower four at a time.
25 mm on every plate in the set, matched to the 25 mm sleeves on all three Gungnir bars. It is the smaller of the two common bores, so a 50 mm Olympic plate will not fit these bars. Working inside one bore is what keeps the set simple: the twenty plates in the box and the 10 kg extension plates sold separately are all cut to the same 25 mm, and they move between the Pumper and both Dumblers with nothing to change.
SlideLock is Gungnir of Norway's patented collar, fitted to all three bars in this set. A plate goes onto the sleeve and the collar locks it with a single slide, so there is no screw collar to wind down and no spring clip to pinch open with a loaded hand. Changing plates between sets is one movement per side, so a solo session on the Pumper stays workable.
It is real wood veneer over panel, combined with powder-coated steel and brushed stainless steel in the frame. The plate centres are real wood veneer as well. Veneer is a genuine wood facing and it is what gives the finish ladder its grain, but it is a facing over a panel and never a billet of timber, and NOHrD is straight about that.
Two reasons, one of them practical. The veneer face carries the same grain as the tower, so the loose plates read as part of the furniture, and it puts wood between two steel plates where they meet on the sleeve, which takes the ring out of loading and unloading. The mass is still metal underneath the facing, so a 5 kg plate weighs 5 kg.
Yes. NOHrD offers 10 kg (22 lb) extension plates as a separate purchase, and they mount on an extension at the rear of the tower that holds up to four of them. They take the same 25 mm bore as the plates in the set, so they load onto the Pumper and the Dumblers without anything else changing. Ask us to price the extension against your order.
45 x 45 cm on the floor and 117 cm tall. A barbell station rarely gets smaller than that, and the layout earns it: the plates go on the front, the loaded bars go on the frame, and the 160 cm Pumper stands upright at the back out of the walkway. Leave working room in front for the bar itself, which is longer than the tower is wide.
88 kg, or 194 lb, empty. With the twenty plates racked on it that comes to about 145 kg on a 45 x 45 cm footprint before the three bars, so it is worth checking the floor build-up if the room is above ground level. It is free-standing and needs no wall fixing.
Six, priced up from Shadow to Walnut. Shadow is the black-stained option and it reads as dark furniture, with Vintage the aged character finish in the middle. The finish lands on the tower and on the plate centres together, so a loaded tower is one wood from the floor to the top plate.
Twelve packages, and yes, the station is assembled on site. Twelve cartons is a lot of consignment to receive at once, so check the delivery access and where the boxes can be staged before the date is booked. Tell us about lifts, thresholds and turns and we will pass it to the carrier.
The WeightPlate Tower is the barbell station and the DumbBell Set is the fixed weight one. Here you build the load by hand and get up to 62 kg on one bar for squats and deadlifts, on a 45 x 45 cm footprint. There you pick up a finished dumbbell between 5 and 25 kg with no loading at all, on a 135 x 100 cm footprint and 320 kg of standing weight. A WeightBench pairs with either, and it is the piece most barbell buyers add next.

"It is a beautiful set. The stand works well and it is extremely well built and durable. The Vintage Oak color we received was a bit darker than the picture, but everything else was perfect."
"Beautiful and easy to put together."
