The Osaki 5D+4D Kairos Duo is a massage chair that runs a 5D hand on your back and a 4D unit on your glutes and hamstrings. A 4D roller pushes out of the backrest and back in, and changes speed as it presses. A 5D unit is a 4D one with a further movement layered on top. Here that movement is extra reach out of the backrest. Smart Pressure Sensors set how firmly each head presses as it travels. The heads on that upper unit carry heat. The 4D unit holds its station under the seat. One program covers your neck and your hamstrings in the same minute.

Around the two mechanisms sit 56 air cells for a full body air massage. An air cell is the inflatable bladder that squeezes a limb and lets go. Calf rollers and a calf kneading function work the lower legs. Reflexology is the word for pressure on specific points of the sole, and 2 foot rollers per foot run it from your toes to your heels. The track is laser-crafted steel in the SL shape, and it carries the rollers from your neck and shoulders to the top of your hamstrings without a break at the hips. The Body Scan Runs at Every Power-On

Every time the Kairos Duo powers on it runs a full body scan, reading the contours and the dimensions of your back and fitting the roller placement to them. The scan keeps working while the program runs and re-adjusts as you change position, so the placement it found at the start does not go stale halfway through a session. Above and below that scan sit the two mechanisms: the 5D upper hand on your neck, shoulders and back, and the 4D lower mechanism on your glutes and hamstrings, both moving at once. Smart Pressure Sensors sit across the pair and decide how firmly each head presses at the point it has reached.

Fifty-Six Air Cells and Reflexology Underfoot

The roller track is the rail the two mechanisms travel along, and 56 air cells reach the parts of you it cannot. They inflate and release in sequence around your arms, hips, legs and feet while the mechanisms work the center line of your body. At the bottom of the chair the hardware changes. Rollers in the calf section knead the lower legs. Two foot rollers with reflexology ridges sit under each sole, covering the length of the foot from the toes to the heels. Calf heat runs through the same section, so the lower leg gets air, rollers and warmth inside one program.

Three Recline Positions and an Inch of Wall

Space-saving is the frame sliding forward as the backrest goes down, so the Kairos Duo reaches a full recline with 1 in. of clearance behind it. It can sit against a bedroom wall. Three recline positions are stored. Zero gravity is the recline that lifts your knees above your heart so your weight comes off your spine, and Leisure and Sleep sit beside it. Upright the chair measures 33.0 in. wide by 62.0 in. long by 47.5 in. tall. Reclined it measures 33.0 in. by 70.0 in. by 36.5 in. Width holds at 33.0 in. in both positions, which is also the doorway figure to measure against. The removable headrest comes out if you want the top of the backrest clear.

Fourteen Questions Before the Kairos Duo Arrives

It runs two massage systems at once, an upper hand for your neck, shoulders and back and a lower mechanism for your glutes and hamstrings. A single mechanism chair has one roller unit that travels the whole track, so it reaches one area at a time. The Kairos Duo keeps a unit stationed at each end and works both halves of your body together.

The upper hand is a 5D mechanism, and its fifth movement is reach: it travels further out of the backrest than a 4D roller does.
