A 3D mechanism is the kind that varies how deep the rollers press. The 4D mechanism on the Duke XL adds rhythm and speed to that, changing intensity in real time as the rollers travel the track. A single stroke does not run at one fixed pace from top to bottom. You set the level by hand or leave it to one of the 20 auto programs.

SL-Flex Track System

The SL-Flex track bends as the chair moves and follows your body from the neck and shoulders down to the upper glutes, which opens a deeper stretch than a rigid track reaches. An SL-track is the long rail that carries on past the tailbone, and an S-track is the short one that finishes at the lower back. Of the 48 air cells on the chair, 14 sit across the calves, working with 4 calf bumpers that press into the muscle at points flat airbags can only wrap. The cells inflate and release along the length of the lower leg while the bumpers hold their position. The calf wells themselves are wider than on a standard Osaki chair, so a larger calf sits down inside the massage with the bumpers reaching it from both sides. Below them, 3 specialized rollers work each sole, and the footrest extends up to 7 in. so the sole meets those rollers whether your inseam is short or long.

A Heating Shawl You Can Move

Heat on the Duke XL reaches the lumbar and the feet at roughly 75 to 83 degrees F, and the shawl that carries the lumbar heat lifts out of the backrest. Drape it across your chest and stomach and the warm surface is on the front of your body while the rollers work the back, which is a placement no fixed lumbar pad can offer. Leave it in the backrest and it sits behind your lower back through the session, warming the same stretch of the track the 4D rollers are working. The foot heat runs at the other end of the chair, under the 3 specialized rollers in the footrest, and both zones run alongside whichever of the 20 auto programs you have chosen.
