Heated Back Wrap

Therabody ThermBack LED Heated Wrap

Therabody publishes the actual temperatures for this one, which is rare in heat therapy. Three heat-with-infrared levels: Low at 102°F, Medium at 107°F, High at 113°F. A heating pad you already own probably runs hotter and tells you nothing; here you know exactly what you are putting against your lower back.

Three more things share the wrap. Vibration runs in three patterns across the muscles. A near-infrared LED array runs down the spine, switched on or off. Carbon fibre spreads the heat and far infrared across the whole lower back. Each therapy works on its own or in combination, chosen on the panel or in the Therabody app, and the battery gives 180 minutes.

Features

Four therapies, four separate controls

Heat, far infrared, vibration and LED sit in one wrap and each can be run alone. Therabody's outcome language for them is theirs; the settings and temperatures below are published specification.

🔥
Heat Therapy with Far Infrared Therapy
Three levels, and Therabody names the temperature of each: Low 102°F, Medium 107°F, High 113°F. Carbon fibre carries that heat and the far infrared evenly across the entire lower back. No Celsius equivalent is published, so we quote the Fahrenheit figures as given.
102°F · 107°F · 113°F
📳
Vibration Therapy
Three patterns: Low, High and Wave. Wave moves the vibration around the wrap while Low and High hold steady. Therabody places the vibration over the muscles and tissue of the lower back, away from the spine itself, and it runs with or without the heat.
Low · High · Wave
💡
LED Therapy
Near-infrared LED light, positioned down the line of the spine and controlled as a simple on or off. There is no level to choose. Therabody publishes neither a wavelength in nanometres nor an LED count for this array, so this page states neither.
Near-infrared · on / off
📱
Control your treatment and unlock additional settings in the Therabody app
The wrap runs from its own control panel with no phone involved. Pair it over Bluetooth and the Therabody app adds further treatment settings and lets you save the combinations you use most, which is worth doing if your Tuesday setting differs from your Sunday one.

Wearing It

Fit, power and the small print

A back wrap is only useful if it stays where you put it and goes on without help. These eight points cover the strap system, the power options and the parts Therabody publishes exactly.

Four Therapies

Where each therapy sits on your back

The four therapies are not stacked on top of each other. Heat with far infrared covers the entire lower back through the carbon fibre layer. Vibration sits over the muscles. The LED array runs down the spine. That placement is the argument for a purpose-built wrap over a plain heating pad, and it is also why the device shuts itself off at the end of a dose.

  • Heat with far infrared therapy across the entire lower back
  • Vibration therapy on the muscles
  • LED therapy down the spine
  • Therabody's own phrase for this: precisely placed, science-backed doses of each therapy
  • Automatically shuts off after 20 minutes when running on the battery
  • Carbon fibre material spreads the infrared heat evenly across the lower back

Customizable treatments to target different types of back pain

Every therapy is independent. Heat can run at 102°F with no vibration. Vibration can run on its own with the heat off. The LED is a separate on or off. That gives you a set of combinations to work with, and the built-in control panel handles all of it without a phone. Pair the app when you want the extra settings and a saved favourite.

  • 3 levels of heat plus far infrared therapy: 102°F, 107°F, 113°F
  • 3 vibration patterns: Low, High and Wave
  • Optional LED therapy, controlled on or off
  • Each therapy used independently or combined
  • Built-in control panel; Therabody app pairs over Bluetooth for additional settings
  • Save your favourite settings in the app for quick access

What’s Included

Three items, two straps and one useful phone call

The box holds the wrap, a travel pouch and a USB-C charging cable. The fit comes from two straps working together: adjustable Velcro straps that take waists to 45 inches, and a secondary elastic compression strap that pulls the heat and vibration closer against the back. Above 45 inches, Therabody Customer Service supplies a strap extender at no charge, which is worth knowing since it does not come in the box.

  • Adjustable Velcro straps accommodate waists up to 45 inches
  • Secondary elastic compression strap for a closer fit

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Three levels, each with a stated temperature: Low 102°F, Medium 107°F, High 113°F. Therabody publishes these in Fahrenheit only. We have not converted them to Celsius, because a converted figure is our arithmetic and not the manufacturer's specification.
Therabody sets 20 minutes as one treatment dose and the wrap shuts itself off at the end of it when running on the battery. If you want a longer session, run the wrap plugged in.
Yes. Therabody states it can be used while plugged in for longer treatment. On the battery alone you have 180 minutes of charge, worn cordless.
The adjustable Velcro straps accommodate waists up to 45 inches, with a secondary elastic compression strap for a closer fit. Above 45 inches, Therabody Customer Service provides a strap extender at no additional charge; it is not in the box, so you request it from them.
Heat Therapy, Far Infrared Therapy, Vibration Therapy and LED Therapy. Therabody's framing is that four together relieve lower back pain more effectively than heat alone, and that sentence is theirs. The verifiable part is that all four are in the wrap, each is separately controlled, and each is placed on a specific part of the back.
It is on or off, with no levels. Therabody describes it as near-infrared LED light therapy running down the spine. No wavelength in nanometres and no LED count are published, so we quote neither.
Low, High and Wave. Wave moves the sensation around the wrap; Low and High are steady. Vibration is placed over the muscles and can run on its own with the heat off. No frequency in Hz is published for any of the three.
No. Every therapy is selectable from the built-in control panel. Pairing over Bluetooth adds further treatment settings in the app and lets you save the combinations you use most, so the app is an addition to the wrap and not a requirement of it.
Therabody states it fits over or under clothes and can be worn standing, sitting or lying down. It is cordless on the battery, so there is nothing trailing behind you while you wear it.
A setting that stops the device turning on during transit. It matters more on a heated product than on most: a wrap that switches itself on inside a packed bag is a wrap heating up with nowhere to send it.
The ThermBack LED device, a travel pouch and a USB-C charging cable. The strap extender for larger waists is a separate request to Therabody Customer Service, free of charge.
Therabody publishes no weight and no dimensions for the ThermBack LED, only that it is one size fits all with straps rated to a 45-inch waist. Where a figure is not published, this page leaves it out.
It is an FDA-registered medical device, which is the exact wording Therabody uses, and it is HSA/FSA Accepted. FDA Registered is a different designation from FDA Cleared and we keep the two apart. The device carries a 1-year limited warranty.
Therabody's own statement about its research programme: they say they have 26 completed studies and 25 in progress, and cite 75,000 scientific articles covering the treatment modalities their products use. Those are Therabody's figures about Therabody, and none of them is a result for this specific wrap.
Treat it as a positioning line. What sits behind it on the specification is concrete enough to judge for yourself: four independently controlled therapies, three named heat temperatures, three vibration patterns, a 180-minute battery and app control. Compare those against whatever else you are looking at, and the superlative takes care of itself.
The ThermBack is heat only, shaped for the lower back, with LED and vibration built in and its temperatures published. The Cube adds cold and a contrast cycle and straps to any body part, at 345 g. If your issue is the lower back and heat is what helps, the wrap covers far more of it at once.

BEST relief EVER

"I saw the TV commercial around Christmas about the belt. I researched about it and decided to purchase it. I had been using Pain creams and roll-ons to fight might aches that I was having. Those provided temporary relief for a few hours and then it returned. I got the belt and was impressed by it's design and workmanship. READ the instructions and followed everything as stated for use. Well, I was completely blown away from the immediate relief I was getting and not only that, the relief lasted a lot longer than my other methods. After about 5 days using the belt around 2-3 times a day, the aches and pain have gone away. So far I only use it now if I feel a twinge of ache coming on to ward it off. I HIGHLY recommend this belt to anyone who has back issues, as this could be your answer you are looking for."
