Single-leg carriage trainer
The Glute Slide loads one leg at a time on a carriage that rolls. One foot stays braced on a fixed platform behind an upward lip, the working foot sits on an inclined block on the carriage, and six elastic bands under the deck decide how hard that carriage is to drive out and hold on the way back.
Resistance runs from 0 to 120 lbs. Each of the six bands pulls at about 20 lbs, and they are engaged one at a time by push-pins set into the top of the frame, so the load changes between sets without getting off the machine or reaching underneath it.
The carriage rides on urethane wheels along two aluminum side rails and covers nearly three feet of travel. The frame stands 57 inches tall, measures 65 inches long by 20.5 inches wide, weighs 80 lbs once it is together, and rolls on its own transport wheels when the floor is wanted for something else.
The Glute Slide ships without the upright handlebars, which are sold on their own as the Glute Slide Handlebars. Standing and kneeling work on the machine is done with or without them, and the deck, the bands and the push-pins arrive ready to train either way.
How it works
Six elastic bands sit under the deck and each one is engaged or dropped by a push-pin on the top face of the frame. The load changes in a second, from where you are already standing.
The sliding platform rolls on urethane wheels down two side rails. Those rails and the push-pins that run through them are high grade aluminum.
The stationary platform carries a lip that rises at its end, and the stance foot sits in behind it. The working foot rests on an inclined block carried by the carriage.
The Glute Slide is covered by US Patent 11,904,203 B2, Exercise apparatus and methods of operation thereof, granted in February 2024. It covers the apparatus as a whole, from the braced platform to the resistance members that can be coupled to the carriage.
Worth knowing
The push-pins sit on the upper face of the frame. A band goes on or comes off between sets without stepping down or crouching under the deck.
ResistanceEach band adds roughly 20 lbs when it is pinned in. All six together put the top of the range at 120 lbs, and an empty deck puts it at nothing.
RangeThe stance foot braces behind the lip on the fixed platform while the other leg pushes the carriage out and controls its return. The glutes are the muscle group the movement is built around.
StanceThe carriage covers close to three feet on a full drive. How far it goes on any given repetition is down to the person on it.
TravelThe carriage rolls on urethane wheels, which is what the side rails are built to carry. Both rails and the custom push-pins are made from high grade aluminum.
CarriageTransport wheels and a handle are part of the frame. An 80 lb machine tips onto them and rolls to wherever it is being used next.
PortabilityThe frame carries four ports for cord attachments. They are built in and sit idle until cords are clipped into them.
PortsThe bands are a wearing part and they are meant to be changed. A full set swap is a job of under ten minutes with the machine where it stands.
UpkeepIn detail
Resistance comes from elastic bands mounted under the deck, six of them, each pulling at about 20 lbs. Pinning all six in puts the machine at its ceiling of 120 lbs, and pulling pins brings it back down in roughly even steps to nothing at all, which is why the same machine suits a warm-up set and a heavy one.
The working foot sits on an inclined block carried by the sliding platform, and that platform rolls on urethane wheels down two side rails. Rails and push-pins are both high grade aluminum, and the carriage covers nearly three feet of travel between the ends of its run, with the stance foot held the whole time by the lip on the fixed platform.
The machine is used standing, with one foot braced and the other driving the carriage out to the side for a lateral slide or behind for a rear slide. The same two patterns are trained from the knees, and the four cord ports on the frame open the machine up to upper body work when cords are clipped into them.
The Glute Slide stands 57 inches tall on a frame 65 inches long and 20.5 inches wide, weighs 80 lbs assembled and takes users up to 300 lbs. Putting it together runs to about six minutes with the tool set that ships in the box, and the transport wheels take care of the rest once it is built.
Add-ons
The Glute Slide trains as it ships. Three add-ons change what the machine can be asked to do: a heavier set of bands, cords for the four ports, and a block that sits on the rails.

A set of six heavier bands, about 30 lbs each, supplied with the Glute Slide connectors they need. They raise the pull of every band the push-pins engage by half.
Three sets of cords, light, medium and heavy, that clip to all four Glute Slide ports with industrial-strength carabiners. A nylon safety sheath runs the length of each cord and the grips carry a hexagonal rubber pattern.
A molded block that sits on the side rails and shortens the length of the slide, putting the load on the adductors. Rubber feet give it traction so it stays put on the rails while it is in use.
Questions

Assembly is minimal and runs to about six minutes. An assembly tool set ships in the box, along with printed instructions.
Four upper body cord ports are built into the frame. The cords are a separate accessory and clip into those ports with carabiners.
Bands are a consumable, and the guidance is every six to nine months: closer to six months at three or four sessions a week, closer to nine at one or two. Changing a set takes under ten minutes and a replacement set of six bands is sold on its own.
The published warranty is a home use warranty: three years on the frame, the handlebars and the slide platform against defects in materials and workmanship, with the handlebars covered once they are owned. The bands are covered for 90 days.
