Research supports that using a combination of sucrose and dextrose increases carbohydrate absorption during exercise more than when a single carbohydrate, like dextrose, is consumed alone. Increased carbohydrate absorption also means improved fluid delivery and better hydration.

Gnarly Fuel2O replaces the electrolytes you lose when you sweat, supplying 250mg of sodium per serving as well as the electrolytes chloride, potassium, magnesium and calcium.   • What is the difference between Hydrate and Fuel2O? - Hydrate is formulated to replace what you lose when you sweat, namely water and electrolytes. It contains some sugar to help actively push water into your body, but it doesn’t contain enough sugar to be a significant contributor to caloric intake. Fuel2O has an electrolyte profile similar to Hydrate, but contains additional carbohydrates for fuel as well as HMB to kickstart recovery.
  • Why is there so much sugar in Fuel2O? - Fuel2O contains 25g of added sugar or 100 calories per serving. This may seem like a lot to some, but not when you're trying to fuel exercise lasting more than 90 minutes. The average person burns ~500-600 cals/hr when running and so to optimize performance and avoid ‘hitting the wall’ replacing these calories is paramount. Consuming 1-2 servings of Fuel2O/hr when exercising can help replace the calories you burn while simultaneously replacing electrolytes.
  • Why did you choose sucrose and dextrose as the carbohydrate sources in Fuel2O? - Fuel2O contains both sucrose and dextrose because these carbohydrates use different transport proteins to get from the gut into the blood. By using these two forms of carbohydrate and thus different transport proteins we are able to maximize the carbs/calories per serving of Fuel2O while simultaneously minimizing the risk of gut distress.
