Jugs | BP2 Baseball
The Jugs BP2 Baseball Pitching Machine is a coach's pitching machine built to make batting practice simple to run, with six preset arm slot positions and speeds from 45-90 mph. Changing from a fastball to a slider means turning the machine to the next marked stop, with no angle to measure. A digital display reads back the exact speed, and a coach can fine-tune a round one mph at a time. Every pitch leaves from a 64 in. release point that mimics the downward plane of a live pitcher. Pinpoint micro-adjustment then moves the ball left, right, up or down across the strike zone.
The BP2 changes its pitch angle by moving the machine, and it does that on rails. Six preset arm slot positions rotate the tire chassis around the feed chute, and each one is a marked stop, so going from one arm slot to another takes a turn of the chassis and no measuring. The six stops are the fastball, the split-finger, and a curve and a slider from each side. The base weighs 125 lb, heavy enough to stay firmly in place during use and balanced for repositioning; the top tire is the transport wheel, so the machine tilts onto it and rolls. Construction is steel and cast aluminum, on patented Grip-Tite 9 in. non-marking pneumatic tires with an average 20-year life expectancy. The BP2 is built for high school, college and pro level training.

Closer look
Practice time is the scarce thing in a team session. On the BP2 the tire chassis rotates around the feed chute and lands on six preset positions, which set six precise pitch angles without manual guesswork. Each stop is a named pitch: fastball, split-finger, right- and left-handed curve, and right- and left-handed slider. A coach can move a hitter from a round of fastballs to a round of left-handed sliders with one turn of the chassis.
The Grip-Tite surface holds the grip that puts spin on the ball. Around those tires the BP2 is steel and cast aluminum, built to stand up to years of demanding practice sessions. Upkeep is plain: hold the tires at 26 psi, sand off dirt buildup with medium-grade sandpaper and wipe the machine down with a damp cloth.
Its 45 mph floor is the highest of the six Jugs baseball machines, above the mini3 at 30 mph and well above the BP1 at 15 mph, and its 90 mph ceiling matches the SP3 and the BP3. A digital speed display gives an exact readout for fine-tuning speeds to the mph. The pitch leaves from a 64 in. release point, which mimics the downward plane of a live pitcher and gives hitters a realistic, in-game feel. Coaches use it for high school, college and pro level training.
